This was our second visit to Hopetown Cottage - this time for Christmas. Eleanor helped us enormously planning for Christmas away from home, including ordering and collecting the turkey and ham from a local farm shop for us. We arrived to a very snowy Christmas card setting: the log fire buring, Christmas tree lit and decorated, garland over the mantle... More

The self-contained accommodation is first-rate. We frequently hire houses for leisure breaks and Culverhayes is among the very best that we have rented. The quality of the accommodation is excellent and enables you to relax and enjoy the stay. We were snowed in and did not mind a bit! Highly recommended.

This was our second holiday at Culverhayes and certainly won't be our last. Elenor and family are so welcoming and have thought a great deal about how to make their guests feel at home. We stayed at Spice Cottage which has absolutely everything you could possibly need as well as being very pretty. The location is really good, we found... More

Myself, partner, mother-in-law and grandma stayed in the Hopetown cottage for a week in August and had the most wonderful time. The cottage itself is lovely and done to a really high spec. It is huge and has everything you could think you might need - including 4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, logs for the fire and every utensil under the... More

This is the third time we have visited Culverhayes and are definitely going back in 2010. We feel so relaxed the minute we get there, Eleanor and family are so welcoming and the hamper is a bonus, with lots of local produce, wine etc etc. The gardens are fantastic, our dog loves running around with Eleanor's dogs and he is... What a wonderful place to stay - although slightly ironic that we had to travel down to Devon from Scotland to get "snowed in". Eleanor couldn't have been more obliging and the beautiful welcome hamper was a bonus! The cottage was beautiful and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay there although the weather was limiting we couldn't have asked for a... More

Spent three nights here for New years eve 2009/2010. The group consisted of four toddlers and six adults. The service could not have been better. Both cottages were fantastic with high quality finishes and luxury fittings. The bed and duck down duvet was pure heaven. The high quality standard of accomodation was only matched by the warm welcome by the... More

Self catering holidays can be a minefield and do not often live up to expectations let alone exceed them. From arrival at Culverhayes we were hugely impressed by both the beautiful gardens and the gorgeous cottage we were to stay in for a month. The property was clean beyond belief and immaculately furnished. Everything was provided including all the kitchen... More

Congratulations and many thanks to Eleanor and family for making us so welcome. The house was absolutely fabulous, comfy beds, soft fluffy towels, quality furnishings and a generous and delicious welcome basket to top it all. If you are looking for quality, luxury and space then look no further.
