We have been coming to the Fox Tor bunkhouse for several years , and each time something else has been upgraded making it a good choice for smaller parties. It is divided into 3 rooms with 4 bunks in each, and works best when the entire facility is booked. Not sure how it would work when only booking one room,...

Really good cafe for walkers. Muddy boots and paws welcome. No better place to escape the rain for a while or just relax with great coffee and cakes. The staff are very friendly and the amenities are lovely.

The bunkhouse is warm, clean, spacious and well equipped. We used two rooms, each with two bunks sleeping 4. There is plenty of room for storage and a large communal area with tables, chairs and kitchenette. The staff are lovely and friendly and the cafe offers an amazing, reasonably priced breakfast to kick start a day's walking. Ample parking with...

The Fox Tor Cafe has long been a favourite of mine for breakfast, but I had never stayed in their bunkhouse before. I was very pleased with the general look of the bunkhouse - very in-keeping with the surrounding area, with the emphasis of the bunkhouse being on providing a dry and warm area to sit, plus beds, shower, toilets....

Pretty good! Owner was responsive to any issues raised. No mouse poo or bed bug issues here. Free WiFi with decent bandwidth would be a great addition. Depending on what I'm doing, I may stay at a bunkhouse or international 5* but I'd be happy to come back here.

Have stayed here a couple of times. Never expecting much more than four walls and a bed but have been pleasantly surprised each time. The first time I arrived on a snowy winters day and the owners were not only surprised to actually see me but very helpful in getting me sorted. Good bunk rooms that aren't overpacked. Decent cooking...

We were a group of 10 family and friends who ate in the cafe and slept in the bunkhouse. Good, quality, hot food. The Bunkhouse was clean, reasonably well equipped and most satisfactory. The bathroom and toilet facilities are limited; had they been of a higher standard I would have rated 5*.

Big hearty portions in a warm and comfortable atmosphere, this is a big favourite with all the family and never fails to satisfy. Everything you want after a cold winter walk or just a bimble about the village.

I was walking solo on Dartmoor and required an overnight stay. The Fox Tor Cafe Bunkhouse was the answer. If you just want a bed and don't mind sharing then this is for you. Accommodation is in three rooms with four bunks in each, its a bit snug and you will need your sleeping bag and pillow, rooms and beds...

Not very friendly, very basic bunkhouse - lots of damp on the walls. They told me we could check in at 10.30 and then when we got there, said we had to wait until after 3, which was ok but it wasn't handled very well. The café was rammed and looks very jolly but it didn't open in time for...
