Pod very nice our second stay. Entertainment very good all staff friendly and can't help enough. Pool was fine. My only one thing is cleanliness. Toilets shower blocks very dirty and not cleaned daily. Cleaning staff seemed to be rushed. Toilets in bar very out dated could do with new really. Not enough cleaning staff seems to be the problem. I watched them 8 mins in a pod not long enough to clean I am afraid But over all was good.

This is our 3rd year returning to the pods and we were all set to book up for next year at the “book now for the same price” but we’re very disappointed to find out it was only 15% off next year that means we would be paying £258 instead of the £185 we have paid. With the pods having no room to do anything unless you bring a gazebo I can’t understand the price rise. With the pods on the hill we were the only 2 families the rest were empty as were the 2 new pods in front of us. Some were occupied along the bottom but there were absolutely no campers in tents there at all, is that because of the price rise???!!! The toilets are absolutely horrendous and smelt very bad all of the time! They were not being professionally cleaned everyday. The 1 pod per time in the bathroom is a joke! No one really locked the bathroom and people were happy to share as nearly all restrictions are lifted anyway. We booked for the swimming pool but again it was gross!! They need to clean the top of the pool as you can see the skin and grease and crime where it is not being cleaned. Sorry to say we won’t be staying here again. *clean your toilets better! *clean your swimming pool *tell people in pods to bring a gazebo as if it rains you have no where to cook!

Last year i booked up and i had been gold. I was told they had no more gold caravans as they were all 5 years old so i was downgraded to silver but still paid £795 for a gold caravan . I went to book for next year and was told all their caravans were now gold and the cost was now£1,600. I asked if all the caravans were being replaced then as last year i was told you had none. The staff just laughed and said they were now 3 years old and if i didn't like it to get in touch with head office. I did and as you may have guessed i haven't had a reply. I can only guess the caravans have had facelifts and botox to make them younger. I have been using this park for 21 years first with my children and now with my children and grandchildren and can say never again as my daughter said "they are trying to mug you off" . Ive booked next year with someone else. This isn't a complaint this is a warning.

We stayed in a private caravan so can’t comment on that side, judging by the comments I’m glad we didn’t, standards seem to have dropped a fair bit! I always came to golden sands for our family holiday 30years ago😊 I have lots of lovely memories of this place! Everything was the same apart from the clubhouse😔 I preferred it the way it was, with sweet snacks and fancy cocktails. However the entertainment was brilliant like it always used to be, albeit a bit repetitive on fri and sat night but think that was down to most people arriving on those days. Pool was great however the “hour” slot is actually only 45mins as the call you 10mins before to get out allowing you time to dry, dress and leave, can’t see why when all other restrictions are lifted that you still have a time limit, or having to book! Every member of staff I spoke to were friendly and helpful😊 All in all I still love this place and so do my child now, we’ll definitely be back.

Response from Stacey Brown, Guest Services / Front Office at Golden Sands Holiday Park - Park Holidays UK

Hello C1601YLamyh, Thankyou for taking time to write us a lovely 4* review. We are so glad that you are still making wonderful memories with us here at Golden Sands. We will pass on your comments to the relevant departments, especially the entertainments team. We have decided to stick to a booking system for the pool as its is still at a capacity and with the amount of guests and owners we accommodate, this means there's more of a fair chance of everyone getting to use the swimming facilities during their stay. Thankyou once again and we can't wait to welcome you back. Kind regards,
