We stayed for four nights at The Old Rectory and had a great vacation. Sam and Hugh were superb hosts and enriched our stay. The hotel is located in a small hamlet which feels a little 'out of the way' but there were numerous things to do and see in the immediate area. We stayed DB&B (plus afternoon tea and...

We are delighted to hear how much you enjoyed your stay with us. We thoroughly enjoyed looking after you while you traced your family history in the local area and were thrilled that you found so many ancestors in the church yard next door to The Rectory. The room you stayed in, St Martins, is in fact our smallest room...

Our 4th visit and as ever the warm welcome from Huw and Sam is like visiting friends. The friendliness and professionalism is spot on. All the staff go out of their way to ensure your stay is a good experience. One could not fault anything at this beautiful hotel. Breakfast sets you up for the day, for us the walks...

I spent two nights at the Old Rectory with my mother this weekend; from the moment we arrived until the moment we left we had a truly wonderful stay. Huw and Sam are charming hosts who have the gift of making all guests feel so welcome. We were treated to afternoon tea and delicious cherry almond cake in the beautiful...

The Old Rectory Hotel was the first stop in our tour of the South-West, and it set the highest standard by which all the other hotels were compared. A beautifully quiet lovely location with friendly hosts made it a memorable stay for all the right reasons.

3 days spent in a perfect retreat for a relaxing break in the beautiful surrounds of Exmoor. The Old Rectory is a wonderful and homely place with the perfect hosts, Sam and Hugh. The cuisine is truly fantastic! We will definitely be returning for another short break, hopefully in the near future.

Excellent food, excellent service, and very friendly. The room was very nice indeed, the location is ideal for a few days peace and quiet. Food - brilliantly done. Breakfast was good, and my only negative point was the fresh grapefruit. It was excellent, but the only fruit choice. (Why do hotels in the UK always have grapefruit, whilst the rest...

Thank you all for a great time, everything was just as good as ever. Will return sometime in the spring of next year so make sure you have a good supply of rhubarb liquor and rose wine in. Especially for my wife!

Another lovely weekend at the Old Rectory, where the hotel goes from strength to strength. The increased power of the Wifi a real plus point. I really enjoyed coffee in the gorgeous Orangery and the chance to sit out in the garden, with the gurgle of the stream for company.
