We visited Hunters Inn, as we are celebrating our 10th Anniversary. We travelled down from Bedfordshire (quite a drive), but well worth it. We found the staff very friendly and our room was spacious, airy and comfortable. The food is also very good. (The breakfast sets you up for the day). The best thing is they allow dogs to stay,...

The Hunters Inn is really quite out of the way and doesn't have any local competition. We were just visiting for lunch and were trying to order just before 12 noon. The menus were going to be printed out, but they were not ready to press go. We asked for a particular item that we thought they had and were...

Just visited this place, very nice, pleasant staff and friendly surroundings. So I thought I would try some food, OMG, the food was excellent so much so that I have booked a table for my anniversary meal. Thank you to Dave and his staff for an excellent visit.

This place ticks all the boxes. Stunning location, beautifully appointed rooms and accommodation and a great menu! We spent a lovely weekend, walking, drinking, eating, and chilling! Secret corner of the countryside - very special place!

Had expectation of previous family visits. However first surprise 7.30 booking no chicken left on menu and only one burger left. Not what I would call a dining experience Waiter was pleasant but rest of Staff unwelcoming ,disappointing to say the least

The interior has been updated since last visit some years ago and not only did we have a pleasant pint and glass of wine but also a very fine lunch. The menu had a wide range and we were served with not only a hot meal but also with a smile. Thanks.

As we were staying locally we wanted to eat in a nearby pub and having read the varied reviews on Trip Advisor decided to give Hunters Inn a go. We'd had a drink here a few years ago and were nicely surprised when we saw it had been done up and looked quite smart and welcoming. We love the peacocks...

Went for a walk last weekend with our 2 children and the dog. Such a beautiful area and the Inn is perfectly situated for all those walking in this very popular area. On our return from a 2 mile walk we decided to call in for a drink. My family sat outside and I went in to the bar to...

As we had a dog with us we ate in the bar area. The wife had fish and chips while my steak and ale pie was already off the menu before 1pm so I selected a burger with a bacon topping and chips. Both meals were very enjoyable with the bonus of the best pint of Exmoor real ale I...

After walking to Heddons Mouth we opted to have a light lunch. Ideally wanted to sit outside as was such a lovely spring day but despite the expanse of outside space there wasn't enough tables, such a shame. After finding a window table in a near empty restaurant I went to the bar to order drinks and food. The young...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Hunters Inn pub is blessed with the most magical setting, tucked at the bottom of the exquisitely beautiful Heddon Valley on Exmoor. The narrow road from the moor descends beneath a canopy of ancient trees. Sun-dappled leaves glitter and gleam. The river runs past the inn and a short walk takes you to the beach. ... more   less
