Ended up booking a table for an evening meal after visiting the Tarr steps which the Inn overlooks. The food was exceptional and quite unexpected. i would definitely visit and eat there again and again. It was difficult to choose what to have from the menu. I had the duck and my friends had the ribeye steak and venison -... More

We really have found our paradise! Stayed a couple of nights at this gorgeous little hotel. Made to feel so welcome by all the friendly staff. The food was worthy of Michelin star status. Fresh local produce (which we saw being delivered every day) such an extensive menu but all lovingly prepared to bring out superb flavours. Our room was... More

Ate here two nights running. Really excellent food, beautifully presented, plenty of it without overfacing, and reasonably priced for the quality. Lovely old Inn retaining many original features. Also had afternoon tea there, sitting outside with a lovely view of Tarr steps. Friendly, helpful staff too, all round winner.

Have stayed many times here during the winter over the years and have always enjoyed the great food, super friendly staff and comfortable, well thought out and reasonably priced accommodation. A gem of a location in any season, right off the beaten track next to the prehistoric Tarr Steps. It is great for shoot parties, a couple of nights away... More

Staff were very helpful and friendly working hard to serve the large crowds. Food itself was nice, and came out hot within a... More

We stopped here for lunch after being out and about exploring the exmoor countryside and enjoying some glorious warm and sunny weather it was therefore a bonus to be able to eat our lunch outside overlooking the Tarr Steps. We opted for the goats cheese and Mediterranean vegetable ciabattas and were pleasantly surprised to find that the filling was plentiful... More

We stopped for a late lunch with our two dogs after a circular walk between Withypool and Tarr Steps. The food was excellent, the staff were very dog friendly and it was great setting for an outdoor meal.
