A group of eight people enjoyed a wonderful lunch at a table in the window overlooking the Taw & Torridge estuary, first class service and a wide choice of menu including a Xmas special menu at £18. The food was all cooked fresh and beautifully presented. We will definitely be returning to enjoy this delightful Hotel by the water again....

We booked a room here for an afternoon buffet reception for our Mothers 90th birthday. What a delight. Superb room, wonderful view over estuary, extremely attentive staff and owners and a tasty, value for money buffet with and attentive waiter on hand the whole time. This was as good as it gets at £17 per head. Fabulous!

We have been visiting this hotel for meals and events for some years and been very happy - but today was either a bad day or standards have tumbled. It was a miserable day and the hotel was cool - cool reception and temperature. We were meeting a large group of friends for lunch and arrived early for coffee. The...

We have been to this lovely hotel three times. Every visit has been charming for several reasons: + The staff which are mainly family are warm, friendly and effective. + The furnishing of the rooms and the public areas is cosy and attractive. + The location is excellent for exploring North Devon. Writing this has reminded me that we must...

I live near to this lovely hotel and called into reception yesterday to book a table for one of their pre Christmas functions. What I wasnt expecting was the Fawlty towers moment that followed. This is the one where the receptionist pretends for that she doesnt know your there for a bit, and then when finally looking up from whatever...

Lovely family run hotel, great food and setting. Sun sets are beautiful, summer on the beach. Afternoon tea and 4 course meal is high quality. The rooms have been done up and are now more modern. The waiters and waitresses are very experienced and work hard.

I stayed at the hotel for 4 days during my trip to UK. The room is big and can accommodate 3 persons conveniently, but I stayed alone by myself. The room with 1 king size bed and there is a stowed-away single-bed available in the closet. There is a portable heater and desk fan available if you need additional heater...

Great room overlooking the estuary, with view of Bideford. Large room, comfortable bed, very clean...just one problem the shower, dial hits the metal, so couldn't get the flow and heat right, but apart from that a lovely place to stay. Breakfast was excellent, full English, croissants, and piping hot tea, which is not easy to get right ! Enjoyed the...
