Just returned from a weekend at the Commodore Hotel, Instow, What a wonderful location with a great view across the bay to Appledore absolutely stunning. We were made to feel at home straight away by the lovely lady on Reception. The hotel room (4) on the first floor overlooking Appledore was first class, very comfortable, well decorated and homely. The...

Lovely choice of lunch menu in bar and restaurant. There are comfortable chairs and some tables over looking the water front. We started off with a nice walk along the beach to work up an apitite. Parking is available.

The wind, it did blow, and how. It rained cats and dogs as it does but many people were enjoying the beach all the same. We were hunkered down in the Commodore restaurant for lunch. We have family lunches here now and again and it never disappoints. The service is excellent, the staff are polite, courteous and helpful. The menu...

We have spent the day at The Commodore, celebrating our wedding with family and friends. Fabulous food, and wonderful service made it a very special day. Wonderful setting, and we would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a venue for any celebration. Being able to stay, and look at the view across theatre in the morning was just the...

I know this place well and really enjoy the service and views . The food is average not great but definately not bad either if it was gourmet then we might not get near it so i am happy with the quality price ratio as it stands

A group of eight people enjoyed a wonderful lunch at a table in the window overlooking the Taw & Torridge estuary, first class service and a wide choice of menu including a Xmas special menu at £18. The food was all cooked fresh and beautifully presented. We will definitely be returning to enjoy this delightful Hotel by the water again....

We booked a room here for an afternoon buffet reception for our Mothers 90th birthday. What a delight. Superb room, wonderful view over estuary, extremely attentive staff and owners and a tasty, value for money buffet with and attentive waiter on hand the whole time. This was as good as it gets at £17 per head. Fabulous!

We have been visiting this hotel for meals and events for some years and been very happy - but today was either a bad day or standards have tumbled. It was a miserable day and the hotel was cool - cool reception and temperature. We were meeting a large group of friends for lunch and arrived early for coffee. The...
