my wife and i stayed here for a 2 night break,we found the staff, friendly and helpful.the downside was that because a number of coach trips had cancelled there was no one operating the bar on the upside though we had the whole hotel to ourselves.the hotel it self looks like it could do with a large dose of tlc but...

Have just spent a lovely few days at the Royal Hotel in Woolacombe. Our room was a very nice standard and had a beautiful view across the National Trust headland and sea. The bedroom and bathroom was clean with was given a good daily service. There are lots of spacious public areas within the hotel to sit quietly and read...

Great views and location for exploring the local area. Good value for money, found the food satisfactory and staff were helpful. Good now the lift is up and running Not 5* but not 5* prices either. Would recommend as a good cost effective base for exploring the area.

The room requested was for a disabled person. What a joke, the bed was only a standard double with very little room either side. The linen was an interesting shade of grey and didn't smell too good either. The plug sockets were so far from the dressing table that hair appliances wouldn't reach so you could see what you were doing. On to...

The good stuff first - very cheap, great location, plenty of parking, good breakfast and friendly staff. The not good stuff- may have been smart in the late 60's, very shabby inside and out, carpets in holes repaired with sticky tape, bath stained, shower unusable - my daughter burned her hand - alternative is stone cold, a one hour slot...

When we arrived we were greeted by Kirsty. What a lovely friendly receptionist. She was very helpful and updated us to a room overlooking the sea it was beautiful. Now the rooms could do with updating BUT were very clean so no complaints there. and if we went back to the area would definitely stay there.

All of the reviews on here are correct. The WiFi is poor, while the breakfast is OK the dinners are worse than a NHS hospital, the building is old creaky and reminded me of a care home back when smoking was allowed indoors. The bathroom was very old. The bed along with every floorboard creaked. There is a serious mold...

I imagine this is how hotels functioned back in the '50's and '60's when we didn't know any better. The decor matched the overall feeling of neglect for it's guests. There's not even wifi! Never has there been such creaky floors and squeaky beds. Not great when you're settling children to sleep and it sounds like a herd of elephants...

AVOID THIS PLACE! Shoddiest hotel I've ever stated in. Damp patches from above floor leaks, ancient musty smelling carpets, black mound along the tiles in the bathroom... Breakfast was pretty awful too/ possibly the worst looking low grade meat ever. We were on the ground floor and had the worst nights sleep- noisy neighbours, loud music blaring upstairs (the walls...

The hotel's location is fantastic and the views are tremendous. Bathroom smelt damp (which is no surprise considering what goes on in a bathroom) but after coming back to the room after a long day out the smell filled the whole room! Breakfast is good - pretty much all you can eat with loads of selection! As with many of...
