went to this carvery as it was at the top of the road from where we were staying. The whole restaurant needs updating. You got enough meat and could help yourself to vegs. The vegs were ok would of helped if they were covered up as some were drying out. The gravy was put on meat , but not on... More

Our party of 12 ended up going to Fortescue on Sunday 23rd October as the old mill in woolacombe was packed. First impressions....the car park is ridiculously small and I struggled to park. From the outside it looks nice but inside is lovely and bright. We were told that there was a half hour wait so we decided to have... More

It's great to happen upon a hotel that doesn't rip you off charging for your dog to stay with you. The Fortescue has very friendly staff and is clean + comfortable enough+ reasonably priced. On the downside, though there was no hotel information in the room + no handles to the bath/ shower. The hotel is a bit dated. Thank you... More

Great welcome from the landlord, the room was clean and comfortable. My wife had the carvery which was superb with good choice of fresh vegetables, I had a lamb curry prepared by the highly talented chef, Edward, nothing was too much trouble also a great pint. Will certainly be back. Mike from Chester.

We called in for a meal one evening this week whilst visiting Woolacombe, the restaurant itself wwhilst being spacious is out dated and in need of a revamp.my daughter and I ordered salmon with freh vegetables and new potatoes. And we're both extremely disappointed with the food. The vegetables were over cooked and had been hanging around for some time being... More

The staff seemed very confused with every question, with us being told 3 different things by 3 different people. We only wanted to know whether we could eat outside! Prices for main meals weren't overpriced. Lots of local drinks on offer. The food was ok - granted we didn't have the carvery which I have heard good things about so... More

Location - a less than 10 minute driving distance to the beach but I don't believe it's an easy walk as narrow roads going down to the beach. When we arrived it was not the friendliest welcome from the lady behind the bar... Not unfriendly as such but just not that cheerful(!) Has a musty smell to it in places... More

Visited this hotel for a meal whilst holidaying close by with family as the menu looked quite nice. What can I say about this outdated, grubby hotel? Firstly, it needs decorating in the downstairs areas and perhaps the smell of mustiness would disappear. We were escorted to our table by a very young, friendly waitress and we immediately noticed that... More

This was our second time here. We found this on the way out from woolacombe beach as we have a dog. Very large inside and it also has seating outside. I must be honest thought with the decor inside it may not be upto much but never judge a book by it's cover. The staff were very friendly on both... More
