Visited twice whilst on our week long holiday and were very impressed with the food and the warm, friendly atmosphere. On arrival you are greeted by the landlady with a smile and thereafter nothing is too much trouble. The staff are efficient and the food extremely well cooked and presented. The portion size is generous which is always important when... More

We stayed for a 2 night stay and the food was so good we had dinner both nights. Menu has excellent choices and the presentation was superb. The quality of produce was very high, clearly don't cut corners. We enjoyed steak the first evening cooked to perfection and Lamb shoulder the second evening. Cooked breakfast was the best. Interesting drive... More

Great pub. Delighted to have found it. Will be coming back as the the lunch ciabatta's and the evening dinner were the best we have had in this area. Great location as well with fab play area for kids. Met people there who have been staying there for the the last few years and still love every aspect.

Unbelievably delicious sea bass! My wife had the lambs liver and loved it. What I love the most about this place is that they get basics just right. Always accommodating and even when very busy, they are "in control". Best in the area by a mile!

This is a lovely traditional English pub right in the middle of the countryside. The food was outstanding. Really hearty and also very high quality. The lamb and pork were both highlights. Palmer's ales on tap and very well kept. Excellent outside space with lots of kiddie gym equipment and even a 'fairy garden'. Well worth a detour.

Having arrived late at night due to car troubles, we were welcomed by the cheery face of Tracey. She made my wife and I feel very welcome, offering us a drink and showing us to our room. It was a large and spacious bedroom, really well set out with a good old time/ modern balance. Complimentary home made cookies were... More

My husband, two year old son and I have just returned from a 2 night stay here, we were attending a friends' wedding in the village. Tracey & Steve made us feel very welcome, and were extremely helpful with our various requests (gluten free meals, warm milk at bedtime for our little boy etc). The garden and play area are... More

If you like a quiet country location just a few miles from the coast at Bridport this could be for you. Quiet country pub with superb evening meals and lovely rooms. A good test of any accommodation is how the hosts handle any problems. On our second night we had a mysterious annoying noise in the room, apparently a plumbing... More

We went to this isolated pub with high expectations. The location is great for young families and has a beautiful beer garden / play area with. Good local beers. The food was average, I wouldnt rush back.
