We visited The Scott Arms for dinner with Dorset friends who are regulars. Outside the evening was chilly what with fall coming on, but inside we were warmly welcomed into a pub that seemed to be straight from British central casting. Warm fire. Simple but excellent choice of dishes. Great service. Overall our dinner was memorable and we are already... More

We have visited the Scott Arms many times, see my other reviews, and always highly rated it. This time we stayed as B&B customers, dinner as well. The room was pleasant enough, but a stained cloth headboard is an utterly disgusting thing and that's what we got. Cobweb in the bathroom too - not a big deal but shows they... More

Stopped in for lunch today. The staff who served us were very nice, the food selection good, sensibly priced, table service was flawless. Superb views. We were on track for a really good review. the one thing which let it down was the ?manager on duty today, being awkward with two customers looking for a table. They were obviously fully... More

Coming specially for the draft local cyders and , of course, the view, I took the opentop bus from Bournemouth changing at Swanage. ( Beware full open top buses in season and fine days for I have seen buses going straight pass bus queues as the bus was full. Sometimes I have gone in the opposite direction to a stop... More

The Scott Arms is a good place to get a quick drink after an afternoon's circular walk from Kingston to the coast at Houns-tout where there are spectacular views. The pub is divided into several sections and is open all day. I haven't tried the food but the range of beers is pretty good and served well. The pub has... More

We had lunch here last week. I had the Chicken Supreme for £16.95 which was nothing special whatsoever and completely overpriced, and the other half had Cheese and Chutney Sandwiches with a side salad for £8.95 - which was awful. The bread had a strange taste/odour about it, and the side salad (or small pile of limp vegetation that needed... More

Today I visited with a friend for her birthday as we like this place very much. But today's experience will NOT be bringing me back. Seemed to be lacking in staff good took ages to come out , with my friends coming out first , she had nearly finished hers before mine came out. The staff especially Shaun was so... More

The Scott Arms is one of those pubs that has a view to die for, overlooking the Isle of Purbeck with Corfe Castle in the mid-distance. We had visited before, so knew what to expect, and were not disappointed. There was a bit of a wait, and staffing levels appeared to be a bit low, but this pub is always... More

This is a great pub to visit on a sunny day. We'd just finished a 5 mile walk, no better place to stop at. Lots of food options, they even have a 'Jamaican bbq' because their address is Kingston, obviously not the one in Jamaica. The gardens our stunning and its one of the best garden views I've experienced. Could... More

Came here with family and friends after previously having a fantastic meal. We had hyped this place up all week and were later extremely disappointed. The food took a long time to arrive, with one of our party getting theirs 10 minutes before everyone else. When it came is was pretty ordinary, something you could make at home. No member... More
