On my recommendation my parents booked here for my 50th birthday surprise lunch. I am local to the area but we had family coming from further afield. The parking is good ( just mind the road), and access to the property is easy for all ages, ( and believe me we had that covered from 7 months to 80 years)...

On our first visit we were unfortunately served by a very unwelcoming member of staff. It put us off visiting again so we sent feedback by email. The owner sent an excellent response and I am confident the situation will be dealt with. Which is good :). The actual food was superb!

Our dear friends got married last Saturday and took over the Ship for their Wedding Reception. It was the right decision as everything was perfect from start to finish. All the staff were excellent and always ready to get things for you if you needed it. The food was delicious from the canapes right through to the yummy evening meal,...

My fiancée and I are regulars at the Ship, so where else to hold our wedding reception and impress our American (and British) guests? It was perfect. Many, many thanks to everyone who worked so hard. And thanks to Gavin for letting us take over the pub for the whole day. The food was delicious and enjoyed by everyone. We...

When we want a special night out with magificent food, superb service and a wonderful atmosphere, it's got to be Gavin and his fantastic team at The Ship Inn every time. Dad's 80th birthday dinner with family last night was nothing short of fabulous. It was hard to choose from the delicious menu and every dish that came to our...

Stayed here overnight last week while visiting friends in the area. Gavin the proprietor gave us the warmest of welcomes and, while not pretending to be luxurious, the room was warm, spacious, comfortable and quiet. The food - both the three-course dinner and cooked breakfast were absolutely delicious - outstanding. Gavin makes a point of using locally produced ingredients, and...

This has been my third time here, a great place to stop over in lovely countryside and not far from the ferry port of Poole. Plenty of parking and safe for motorcycles. Top quality food and real ale, morning breakfast too. Very comfortable. I'll be back soon without a doubt.

We live locally and are regulars which helps but we are treated royally well as are all customers . Particularly the landlord, but all the staff are charming and friendly. Food is much better than the local alternatives and combine that with the atmosphere and feel of the place you are not going to do better!! I look forward to...

I was pleasantly surprised how busy it was for a cold Monday night. We had a glass of wine in the cozy bar area before going into the restaurant. We both enjoyed all three courses. The service was very good, will definitely be going back soon.

Excellent food and service. We were a large party and most of us had pre-booked. Some had the lunch menu and others had the main menu. The staff were very accommodating and friendly and the food was hot and delicious.
