A hotel of character on the river bank convenient to center and local river walks. Attractive bedrooms and comfortable common areas. Dining room of equal character; pity about the incongruous and incompatibly styled 'for sale' wall pictures. Dinner was generally excellent; perfectly cooked partridge and grouse with well balanced accompaniments, good board of local cheeses all pleasantly and knowledgeably served....

On a cold but beautiful November day we were greeted warmly for lunch at this gem of a hotel tucked away on the riverside at Wareham, yet minutes away from the town centre. Pre-lunch drinks and coffee after were taken in the cosy lounge by the roaring log fire. The set lunch choice was excellent, great value and difficult to...

We joined some friends who were staying at the hotel for lunch. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal two of us shared a huge Dover sole and the men both had the halibut. Pudding an unusual pumpkin pie. Not only was the food really good but the service impeccably. A window seat in the dinning room with a good view of the...

We are sitting in the Drawing Room at The Priory, and marveling about this charming place. We had the most delicious 3-course dinner last evening, served to us in our lovely Heron Suite at the Boat House. These people are fabulous, making it possible for My husband to use his buggy to get back and forth. They even sent someone...

We hadn't eaten here for some time, but thought it would be a nice treat for lunch on my wife's birthday. We were not disappointed. We both started with scallops and then my wife had lamb, while I had a whole grouse(!). The food was excellent and they even decorated my wife's dessert plate with "Happy Birthday"! The staff are...

We have eaten at the hotel many times, but one sunday in October we visited - just for coffee. The service was excellent - attentive, but not intrusive. Coffee was good, and pastries were delicious - and the bill was very acceptable. You can keep your Costas etc. we will return again for good coffee and pastries at an affordable...

We stayed at this hotel for three nights starting on Sunday (27th September). The welcome upon arrival was friendly without being too over the top. We were given a hand with our baggage. The room (number 6) was beautifully decorated but it was on the small size being up in the eves. The bath/shower room was also small especially when...

The Priory is absolutely lovely. An amazing hotel set in fantastic gardens on the banks of a river. Full of old world charm you can just drink in the atmosphere. We stayed in the Herron suite and had our own terrace straight onto the river bank. The setting couldn't be more perfect. On the whole the staff were very good....

Semi professional meeting with friends on the garden terrace, delightful cakes and biscuits served with tea and coffee. Only disappointment is that breakfast : brunch foods weren't served as member of party requested eggs to be told 10.30am breakfast not served. Stunning location and setting and a celebrity spotted there too!! Mode
