As this is local, we thought we would try again, enticed by a new winter menu. The choice is good and on paper, very inviting for price and description. However, the reality was not so good (again). After a long wait (and it wasn't busy) the meal came. My husband had chosen the Mixed Grill and had no complaints -... More

We were going to an event at the Tivoli Theatre, which is only 5 minutes walk from the hotel, so booked a room for the night. We went for a superior room, which was massive. We had room 10 which was a lovely room, overlooking the town square. The bed was comfortable and the room very clean and tidy, and... More

Right on the Square in the centre of this compact and pretty little town. The car park is at the rear of the hotel and free to guests. The hotel has a warm and friendly atmosphere Rooms are clean and pleasant as are all public areas but our room looked over the flat roof which needed a good clean up... More

Busy welcoming town inn. The room however was small and very overheated. Even with the radiator off, the pipes ensured that the windows needed to be fully open. The night was then punctuated with noisy guests on the street, traffic, bin collection, etc and the lovely clock at the Minster chiming every 15 mins. Easily the worst nights sleep I've... More

We were a family of 5 and arrived at 1130am, breakfast had finished and lunch did not start until 12 so the whole pub was empty apart from one other small family. We ordered 3 adults coffees and a child's hot chocolate and were told they would bring it over. 20 minutes later we still had no drinks, I asked... More

Staff your premises properly! 9 people in the bar, 15 minute wait for coffee. DO THE MATHS The pain au chocolate or however its spelt was stale and it it seemed to take two staff FOREVER to use a coffee machine. This place really struggles with staffing and people seem to run around doing nothing. Its a Sunday afternoon -... More
