Travellers' Choice
The Bank is situated with one of the finest views in Anstruther where the Dreel Burn merges with the Firth of Forth. The Bank offers something for everyone's tastes whether it’s from our Bar Lunch and Bar Supper menu, or a drink from the largest selection of real ales, draught beers, wines and spirits in the area. The Bank was refurbished this year developing into a family run hotel with quality and service in mind, with leather seating, 3 large screen TVs showing sky entertainment proving a big hit with locals and visitors alike. Homely, traditionally home cooked food prepared from quality local produce served in our Restaurant area and also in the Garden Bar. The large mature gardens offers what has been described as a "Sun Trap" surrounded with substantial stone walls for privacy. The beer garden is open when weather permits and offers a children's play area to keep all the family happy!!!We are only 9 miles from all the famous golf course in St Andrews, but we also have Carnoustie, Kingsbarns and Charlton on our Doorstep. If your here to sightsee then a day out to Edinburgh is a must or why not have a days walking following the "Fife Coastal Path." Our Guest Rooms: We have a eight en-suite guest rooms that can be converted into singles, twins, doubles and we have one family room sleeping two adults and two children in adjoining bedrooms. All of our guest rooms have been decorated to the same standard throughout and provide what can only be described as a "Pure luxury." We have sky entertainment, Large Screen TVs, Hospitality Trays, complimentary Shortbread & Mineral Water, Hair Dryers & Fridges and a range of Bath Soaps. We offer our rooms on a bed and breakfast basis with breakfast included in the price.

Stayed over at 'The Bank' again, for our annual trip to Anstruther. We have stayed before and once again the hotel was lovely. Great views from dining area. Fabulous room (recommend de luxe one), spotless clean and well equipped and the softest bed ever. Staff very friendly and helpful. We decided to eat in hotel in the evening. All started well, a cheese souffle, maybe a wee bit rubbery bit ok. For mains: I ordered the Lemon Shrimp Linguine. It arrived cold on the plate, sent it back for reheat and it returned steaming hot, however they must have used a microwave as pasta was like rubber, they left the lemon slice on the plate, it was yukky and the shrimps were all like rubber. The dish was bland, no seasoning, no lemon flavour at all. I rarely send food away or not eat but I could not consume this. My wife ordered the fish n chips. Chips & Peas arrived cold on a cold plate, sent away for re-heat, came back chips roasting, fish cold and soggy, not pleasant to eat at all. The waitress was very apologetic and nice, she said it was a new 'Chef' Anyway mains were taken of the bill and we left to go along to the famous chip shop for fish supper instead. Breakfast: My wife ordered Pancakes with 'crispy bacon' and syrup. Pancakes like rubber, bacon was at least 90% fat (wish I had taken a photo) it was awful. Syrup was served in a sachet but was crystalized so did not pour. My full Scottish breakfast was ok apart from the fried egg which was barely cooked. Food apart, we really enjoyed our stay, its a lovely hotel, nice views, good bar and staff very friendly, will probably stay again but will not have dinner there.

First Impressions mean alot, the welcome initiated by staff on arrival was 100% this leaves an impressive start to your stay, as it was a second honeymoon for us, staying in Anstruther 30years ago, I made requests of the hotel like flowers for the room etc, not only did they comply wholly but the extra card message made the stay for my wife and myself, unfortunately the restaurant was very busy and we missed booking for the Saturday but settled with Sunday, the beer prices are very reasonable and can't be faulted. So far so good is good enough and looking forward to eating here including breakfast.

The staff are so friendly and helpful. Our room was beautiful. The meal at night was so good! The best cullin skink all holiday! We would have stayed longer if they had space! Breakfast was lovely too. I had scrambled egg with smoked salmon and my husband had eggs benedict, both good! The view from our room was lovely x
