#2 of 8 B&Bs / Inns in Anstruther
*** AWARDED BEST B&B IN SCOTLAND *** (Hotel Awards Scotland - Oct 2019) For the ultimate in luxury B&B accommodation, look no further than "Brackness House", nestled away in the idyllic and historic fishing village of Anstruther, in the East Neuk of Fife, Scotland. More like a small & private luxury boutique hotel than a traditional B&B, this very recently established bed & breakfast is a magnificent and imposing traditional stone built Victorian Villa (built 1860) which is home to Robert & Catriona Nee. A warm and friendly "Anster welcome" is guaranteed to greet everyone who visits. Guests can choose from luxurious double / twin or family rooms all with extremely spacious and sumptuous en suite / private facilities with equally spacious walk-in rain shower. Brackness House is only a couple of minutes walk from the harbour, marina and beach area and is ideally situated for those who would like to take advantage of the many walks along the coastal paths to the other unique and pretty fishing villages, dotted along this beautiful and unspoilt coastline (which is actually one of the driest and sunniest parts of the UK). Accommodation & Facilities. Guests of Brackness House will be treated to the very best in luxury accommodation and facilities. These include - • Luxury twin / double / family rooms with en suite/private facilities • Choice of firmness of mattress • Full Scottish Breakfast, using locally sourced fresh produce (dietary requirements catered for) • Complimentary bathrobe & slippers • Complimentary bottled Scottish mineral water • Free Wi-Fi • Free gym membership • Digital television • Hair dryer • Complimentary Scottish toiletries • Laundry and ironing facilities • Golf club and cycle storage • Off street parking • Cots & Highchairs. Golf. Ideal for golfers too, St. Andrews - the home of golf, is only a 15 minute drive away. You can choose to play many of the courses there and surrounding areas. Anstruther itself boasts a 9 hole links course which features "The Rockies", the toughest par 3 in the UK (voted by Todays Golf). Crail (the 7th oldest club in the world - founded 1786), is only a few minutes drive away and hosts 2 challenging 18 hole links courses. Kingsbarns Links is also a very short drive away. It proudly co-hosts the annual prestigious European Alfred Dunhill Championship along with The Old Course, St. Andrews and Carnoustie, which is also not too far. After a day of golf or a refreshing coastal walk, why not treat yourself to a fish supper from the world famous (and voted UK Chip Shop Of The Year) Anstruther Fish Bar. This is only a 2 minute walk from the house, which is very handy when you`re hungry! Free Gym Membership. We are also delighted to say that throughout the duration of your stay with us, you will be entitled to full complimentary gym membership of Stuart Barton Physiotherapy. Stuart is a world renowned and respected physiotherapist. He has treated many professional sportsmen and women and was the Scottish rugby team`s physiotherapist for many years. Stuart`s gym is fitted with all the very latest equipment and the running and cycling apparatus overlooks the magnificent Firth of Forth. There`s not a better view from a gym anywhere in Scotland! Airport / Railway Station. For those travelling to us from further afield in the UK and to our overseas visitors, for a nominal charge, we would also be happy to arrange airport collection / return from Edinburgh International Airport and Leuchars Train Station. Days Out. We specialise in local and Scottish tours and Robert would be happy to take you on your very own personalised bespoke day out. This could include a visit to the historic capital city of Edinburgh, golf days out, theatre visits, local tours including a must do distillery visit, or the "Scottish Surprise" tour which gives you a flavour of our beautiful country and scenery in a day! Another worthwhile day out would be a visit to The Isle of May. The May Princess sails there from Anstruther almost every day from 1st April to 30th September. The May Island, as it is known locally, lies only 5 miles off the coast of Anstruther. It is an important National Nature Reserve Isle and is home to an incredible array of wildlife, with up to 250,000 seabirds including Guillemots, Razorbills, Shags and around 120,000 Puffins! Also about 150 seals live all year round on the island. Porpoise and dolphin and the odd whale can sometimes even be seen. The Island can lay claim to having Scotland's oldest Bird Observatory, which was founded in 1934. It also has the remains of a 12th Century Monastery built in memory of St Adrian martyred on the island by Norsemen in the year 875 and also the oldest lighthouse in Scotland dating back to 1636. Other Relaxation However, if a less energetic day is what you have in mind, then within the private walled garden of Brackness House guests can enjoy free use of our large decking area for relaxation. On it stands "The Toon Ha`"- our log cabin, which houses a full sized American pool table, championship dart board, satellite TV and digital music system. The decking area is also fully lit for evening relaxation. Guests also have use of their own lounge area where our "Honesty Bar" is situated. Please feel free to sample the wide and varied malt whiskies from around our country. Tariff So whether it's a relaxing getaway, golfing experience, a romantic few days, or a sightseeing trip to this magnificent part of Scotland you are looking for, then please get in touch. You will love your stay here with us! Our prices start at only £115 for a double / twin room per night. Our family room is priced at £160 per night and sleeps up to 4 (2 adults, 2 children under 16). Cots can be placed in any of the rooms at no extra charge. All enquiries should be made by either email or telephone on the details provided. We look forward to welcoming you to Brackness House. We stayed for three nights whilst visiting friends who were on holiday in Fife. We had a wonderful welcome from Robert when we arrived after a 9 hour car journey , he was friendly and informative, he made us immediately fell at ease and comfortable, and with Covid rules being followed made you feel safe as well. The accommodation was immaculately clean with en-suite shower room. We had complimentary toiletries , robes , tea and coffee making facilities, biscuits water. Smart t v everything you could need. Breakfast was cooked to order and was a wonderful treat , full Scottish breakfast , cereal and fruit all local produce. We met Catriona at breakfast who was just as friendly and very welcoming it is plain to see how they make such a wonderful success of their business, nothing was too much trouble, and they made a winning combination. The location of the bed and breakfast is perfect with it being just a short walk to the harbour. We would definitely come back and could not recommend Brackness House highly enough.

We have just stayed at Brackness house for 3 nights, and had an amazing visit. The three bed and breakfast rooms are on the ground floor. Ours was a double king-size room with an ensuite. It was situated at side of the house, quiet and spotlessly clean. It was well appointed with a kettle, tea, coffee, hot chocolate etc. The towels and bedding were fresh and clean. There is a guests sitting room with a fridge and an honesty box for any drinks purchased. The dining room is spacious and light and opens out onto a beautiful garden. Weather permitting you can have breakfast on the patio and are encouraged to use the family garden to sit in during the day if you so wish. Breakfasts were delicious with fresh fruit purchased locally and a full cooked Scottish breakfast. Our hosts Robert and Catriona were delightful, helpful and a fund of local knowledge. They also followed all Covid rules/guidelines to the letter making us feel as safe as is possible in these difficult times. We can thoroughly recommend this beautiful bed and breakfast and will definitely stay there again when we are next in the area. Thank you very much Robert and Catriona for making our stay such a pleasurable one.

We had a wonderful couple of days staying in the Garden Room. Beautiful room with access from room to a very nice garden and a lovely table and chairs for our use outside. You can even have your breakfast out there if you want. Nothing is too much bother for Robert and Catriona, very helpful and friendly. There is a wooden chalet at bottom of garden for guest’s use. There is a pool table, table tennis and various other games for guest’s use. There is also a fridge for guests to chill their drinks in. It’s terrific!! A five minute walk takes you down to the harbour and there is a public park across the road from house. Everything is on your doorstep.

Brackness house is an outstanding B&B. The property is beautiful & is located within a 5 minute walk from the harbour. We booked the Family room for our stay which included a beautiful en-suite bathroom. The standard of the room was outstanding. From first arrival to departure the quality of service provided is outstanding. The attentive nature of the owner Robert is evident immediately on arrival. His attention to detail & knowledge of the area is impressive. His breakfast does not disappoint either. The Scottish Breakfast is delicious, beautifully presented & is not shy on portion size. This B&B ticks all the right boxes. Providing the perfect blend of high level accommodation & service at great value. This is outstanding in all areas. As a family we are well travelled within the UK but this is without a doubt THE best B&B we have ever stopped in within the UK. We will definitely return. This B&B will not disappoint. Highly recommended.
