The Marine Hotel is a very unpretentious, quirky, comfortable and cheap place to stay. The owner is a likeable eccentric and the hotel décor is quirky. We (a party of 4 golfers) stayed for 3 nights in June 2015 and we actually enjoyed our stay and will go back in the future. The bedrooms were clean, warm, spacious, and comfortable....

Stayed in this hotel and where the view from the room was outstanding but the hotel and the cleanliness of the hotel were questionable. I would have been happy to pay for another hotel and lose my money once I had seen the room but there was no availability. We had a room with a shared bathroom that just did...

We arrived in the evening of April 5th 2015 and were eventually greeted by Morgan (& his new puppy). We spent all of 5 minutes in his company (so a character reference is out of the question) as he detailed our room and that there would be no breakfast (although the Marine Hotel advertises and offers B&B). An alternative was...

An eccentric and superb Shangri-La of a guest house. Wonderful atmosphere. Very good breakfast. Extremely good value for money. Morgan is the perfect host. Relaxed and bohemian. Not for the tight assed - who might be happier in a Premier Inn I will be back next time I am in Crail.

Another last minute decision on Friday to go away for the weekend. It seemed there were no more beds available in Crail, when my boyfriend finally found the Marine Hotel and got a double bed room there. He was afraid to tell me that it had only 2 stars, since he knows how obsessed with cleanliness and order I am,...

Stayed at beginning of August - both rooms fine - decoration a bit odd - unreal views and good breakfast. Be sure to take a tour of the beautiful garden and enjoy the lounge although the bar does not appear to operate currently. If you are a bit tight assed go somewhere else as the owner's son is not. Extremely...

My wife and I stayed one night in early June. We wandered in, and were immediately charmed by the place. Cozy parlor with piano and fireplace, great views of the ocean from the tables in front of the windows. Our room was fabulous, huge with expansive views of the ocean and a terrific window seat for lounging. Morgan fixed a...

Just home from 1 night stay in the Marine Hotel. Lovely welcome. Okay the hotel isn't the Ritz but Morgan was very friendly and chilled. We have a dog which a lot of Hotels don't accept and even she was welcomed. Room wasn't 5 star but bed was clean and shower hot .Great view as we had room at the...

If i could rate this hotel as less than terrible i would. From the second you walk up to the front door the warning signs are clear. What looks like either an old fishing boat or a very old rowing boat with a canopy that hasn't seen a lick of paint or any TLC for years has a sign saying...

My husband and i stayed at the marine Hotel for 1 night. The smell hit you as soon as you enter. Very dark dingy.. grubby carpets that's before you get to your room. your room the least said the better. Hairs in bath. The sea view could only be seen if we opened window because glass needs replacing it was...
