Wonderful lunch at the Meldrums Hotel. Very friendly staff all willing to provide excellent service. The menu was excellent, which made it difficult to make my choice! In the end I went on the recommendation of the staff and had the oven baked cod. The lunch was a very pleasant experience....great service, great food, great value for money. We will be... More

We stayed one night. The staff were welcoming and we had a pleasant stay. We didn't eat in the restaurant but it seemed busy with happy customers. Our room was small but recently decorated. A good bed and the bathroom looked new with a good shower. We were surprised that there was no shaver socket in the bathroom and there... More

We called in today for lunch. The staff were very welcoming and we found things we liked on the menu - vego for me. The dining room was really nice and with only two others we almost had it to ourselves. The food was good. We'd happily return as we loved walking around the village. YMMV

I have visited Meldrums hotel on several occasions for lunch prior to today and each time the food and service has been second to none. The staff are amazing and can't do enough to make you feel welcome and the quality and presentation of the food are in a different league from other restaurants in the surrounding area. The meals... What a pleasure it was to stay here. Quaint, homely and friendly. The rooms we had were clean and comfortable. The double room I was in was on the small side but had everything that was needed. The other room (with double and single beds) was much bigger. The only thing missing was complimentary toiletries. I told them one of... More

We were traveling to St. Andrews and unable to secure accommodations in town, so we decided to give this inn a try. Ceres is about a 15-20 min. drive from St. Andrews (but beware of taxi fares--and make sure to get a quote first!). Accommodations were very comfortable, tastefully decorated and spotlessly clean. The staff was helpful, friendly and extremely... More

Located 10 minutes from Cupar or 25 minutes from St Andrews, Meldrums Hotel provides an excellent venue for a pleasant evening's dining. No pretensions, just excellent food and service. An extensive menu with a wide range of choice -- and good value.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Nestled alongside the Ceres Burn, Meldrums Hotel is a mid-19th century coaching inn that marries Iberian cuisine with the rustic charm of Scottish hospitality. Our passion is great food and great service. We believe that each and every guest deserves only the best from the moment that they arrive: a warm welcome from our staff; a pre-supper cocktail - using the best ingredients and perfectly-mixed; the finest cuts of meat and seasonal produce cooked to perfection; attentive, yet discreet, service; and rustic surroundings from which to watch the world pass by. Our suite of rooms are a home away from home and are ideal for those wishing to absorb the culture and history of Edinburgh and St Andrews or to escape to the wilds of the Highlands. Our menus are eclectic. We source our ingredients from local farmers and merchants and complement them with the finest imported cheeses, meats - including the Pata Negra - and spices. Our dishes embody the very best of Iberian cuisine. ... more   less
