If you possibly can, go and stay in this hotel. Make sure to have dinner here, nowhere else. We stayed two nights, both with dinner, and they were probably the best dinners I have had in Scotland (and I have lived here 15 years and eaten in Michelin starred restaurants). Wander round the gardens. Enjoy the sight of this evening's...

We were thrilled to find that the Kilmichael Country House Hotel was in such a sylvan setting and yet just 20 mins stroll from the highlights of Brodick. We enjoyed an excellent dinner on arrival from the ferry. A generous and tasty meal. Our suite was beautiful and well equipped and we found our way on to the internet without...

Let me see if I can hit on some reasons to give this place a good review that others have not yet offered. First, we has a swan guarding our window during daylight hours. How can you top that for security? Second, the hotel's restaurant is a bit of a legend, and the owners talk about closing down dinner service,...

The experience is like staying with people you have known for some time such is the welcome from the owner. The house is very old and has the usual minus points for such a place and can be quite cold in the evening also the antique bed was not the most comfortable however for a relaxing stay with nice service...

The 3 days we stayed at Kilmichael just weren't long enough. We would've liked to stay and see the changing seasons as the grounds and surrounding area were so beautiful. What fantastic service from a brilliantly skilled team - nothing was too much trouble at this hotel. We loved our comfortable room, we loved sitting in the drawing room, we...

This historic house is found at the end of a mile long road and track. The traveller is greeted by over twenty peahens and various other egg laying birds. This starts the treat that is in store for visitors. The setting is dramatic, set in a bowl of hills, the welcome from the hosts is warm and the house is...

Fairy tale visit. Due to a threatened ferry strike we were the only guests! we were treated like royalty and enjoyed one of the best meals of my life. I wasn't going to write this report, I want to keep Kilmichael Country Hotel a big secret so that we have it all to ourselves every time.....but that would be selfish....

Took my wife here for a significant birthday, we wanted somewhere away from the crowd with a touch of class, we got one of the best hotel experiences in our lives. From the lovely rooms, to the excellent cuisine, to the first class hospitality and service where no detail was overlooked, finally to the beautiful gardens in which the hotel...

Our most recent visits to Arran have been during the winter, when the Kilmichael has not been open, but it was so nice to be able to be there at the end of October this year. We had not realised how much we had missed it. As always, we stayed in the Garden Suite, which is our favourite. It's lovely...

Geoffrey and Anthony have restored what is reputed to be the oldest house on the Isle of Arran into a stunning country hotel on beautiful grounds. It was a monumental task and we really enjoyed learning about some of the challenges they faced. The decor is classic Chintz and a mix of European and Asian antiques. We stayed in one...
