We stayed in the Carisbrook when visiting family in Forres. The hotel room was in a separate building to the pub and was very quiet. The room was large and comfortable, although the decor was a little dated. The room was cleaned daily with fresh towels etc. There were lots of extras including shampoo, shower gels and as much tea,...

Arrived in Forres and to be fair The Carisbrooke was a bit of a distressed purchase decision! I should have know better! There are a couple of good reviews on here and a couple of dodgy ones but I am an optimist! Not any more! Room hasn't been decorated in some decades! It's summer it's 10 pm and it's still...

Rooms were clean, comfortable and had a good shower with towels changed daily. These are the important things for a hotel to get right in my opinion. What gives the hotel a 5 star review is its staff. Good food & very friendly staff. Really enjoyed my stay.

Very good place to stay in forres, the staff were very useful and had good sugestions for drinks and food selection. The food was high end and the chicken was of high quality - especially for the price. Portions were good aswell! Service was really good and quick and the accommodation was clean and welcoming. The room we had also...

Nothing here to be positive about unfortunately! Rooms were extremely run-down, falling apart in truth! Shower unusable, dirt and grime throughout the rooms which are effectively little shalets round the side/back. Dreadful Bar area is ok with pool table and drinks ok priced. Outside there is a patio area which in theme with rooms is very run down. We spotted...

My son and daughter were invited by Carisbrooke owner to have a free dinner anytime this weekend as a welcome to Forres, amazing thing to do, they both had a lovely meal, felt the staff were very helpful and pleasant, also all the other patrons made them feel welcome, We all thought this was such an unusual thing to do,...

Stayed here while I was visiting family in the area, found the staff to be friendly and helpful. Never really strayed from Travel Inns or Premier Inns in the past, so the £70 price tag for me and my partner was very alluring, the room was at the back of the hotel so we had a very peaceful night. On...

I wouldn't stay again. It's like one of those cheap motels you see in American films but at £75 for a Tuesday night not in the peak of summer - it wasn't that cheap. Probably wouldn't have been that bothered about the damp, musty room if it had been a lot cheaper... The beds were fine, towels and bedding were...

Stayed overnight when visiting relatives in the area. Walking into the room felt like we had time warped back 18 years when we last stayed there. Decoration was the same, layout of the room hadn't changed. The avocado bathroom suite was well past its use by date. However on a plus point the room was clean and fresh, TV, tea...
