The Taversoe is a very comfortable inn and has everything you could wish for: luxurious beds, good breakfast, lunch and dinner and a well-stocked bar. Carey is a wonderful host. If you need transportation to the pier, just ask and she'll give you a lift. Rousay is a great place to escape from the rat race but it also boasts...

I took a group of 24 people to visit Rousay and we arranged to have lunch at the Taversoe Inn. What an amazing buffet lunch was provided. My group photographed it first then tucked in! 10 out of 10. Excellent

The Taversoe is small but very welcoming. The view from my room was so stunning I didn't rush off to see the sights of Rousay. Meals were tasty home cooking and I couldn't fault the overall experience even though it was the end of the season.

We stopped here for one night to a friendly welcome. The breakfast was second to none with a fresh fruit platter containing exotic fruits - fabulous breakfast. The room was clean and newly decorated. We had our own patio garden overlooking the Eynhallow strait which separates the Island of Rousay from Mainland and the weather was beautiful and it was...

We stayed for two nights and were superlatively well cared for. The food is excellent and comes in very generous helpings - just what one needs after a day of walking up and down hills and crawling in chambered cairns. The room and bathrom were spotlessly clean and had all the necesary bits of kit. They were restfully neutral in...

On an island where the population is just over 200, it's not altogether surprising that there's not much choice around when it comes to food. We went on a midweek lunchtime and we were virtually the only people there. However the staff were really lovely, the view from our table out out to sea was spectacular, and the food was...

Great base from which to explore Rousay's neolithic treasures. Our room, although not particularly exciting aesthetically, was generous and comfortable. We were kept entertained by the antics of the island's rabbits outside the window in the evening, and then by the hotel's chickens in the morning! The hotel offer a tasty menu for evening meal and the breakfast was also...

Wasn't planning on stopping anywhere on our way to mid Howe but after getting lost and not finding a shop we decided to stop in here for a drink. We ended up also having a small lunch here, just a panini but it was lovely. The bar is well stocked with a nice choice of whiskey and Gins and also...

We've had lunch twice at the Taversoe and have not been disappointed on either occasion. The first time we were a small party of 3 and were pleasantly surprised by the diversity and quality of the meals - thus we promptly arranged reservations for lunch for a group of 14. The staff greeted our request with prevenience and offerd us...

We were greeted by Kerrie the owner who was more than helpful and accommodating. She showed us to our rooms which were very well presented, clean and very modern, the en suite was immaculate. The views from the rooms were superb especially on a wintry day, they were warm and very comfortable. Then evening meal was home made and served...
