Lovely boutique B and B in Durness with associated bunkhouse. Lovely big room with large comfy bed. Spotlessly clean with good bathroom with deep bath and shower. Exceptional breakfast with homemade granola, bread and pastries plus the full Scottish, kippers, and a different special every day. Porridge with fruit and nuts, lovely rhubarb and cherry compotes. A welcome residents lounge....

Mackay's Rooms and the Lazy Crofter Bunkhouse is an absolutely amazing place to stay. The staff is incredibly helpful and accommodating. I stayed here for a couple weeks and would highly recommend it for all types of travel whether they are business, family, large groups, or romantic getaways. The sights from the front door are epic, and prices are great.

Absolutely stunning hotel on the most north-westerly tip of Scotland. Stunning scenery and location. The room was amazing, big comfy beds (feather free if required!), fabulous underfloor heating in the ensuite with power shower. Breakfast was fantastic with homemade granola and fresh compote, full Scottish breakfast and local special dishes. The owners were lovely and helpful. Great open fire in...

Durness is way out-of-the-way but really beautiful. Mackay's Rooms are right in the heart of this small Northen town. The rooms are warm and comfortable with modern bathrooms (and heated floors). The common areas are perfect for getting together with friends and having a dram. Breakfast is nothing short of phenomenal with homemade jams, fresh baked bread, and local favorites...

We loved our night at Mackay's rooms. Stayed here on our NC500 road-trip. Loved everything. Stayed in the small double room and thrilled with the furnishings, cleanliness and location. Homemade breakfast granola is fantastic.

Lovely warm welcome on arrival, staff (owners were away for the day that we stayed) were brilliant and credit to the owners. The decoration of the building is exceptional, very scottish highland feel to it. Parking is directly over the road and as we were at the front of the building it was good to be able to see our...

Loved our stay here. Durness is wonderfully remote with incredible beaches, and Mackays Rooms the perfect place to stay - very friendly and welcoming, and beautifully set up. Our bedroom was stylish and comfortable with everything we could want, and the breakfast was one of the best we've had anywhere.

Can't ask for a better place to use as a base for exploring this part of Scotland. Clean rooms and fast Wifi, located beside the SPAR and fuel pump, and within walking distance of the key beaches. The black pudding served at breakfast is the real thing from Stornoway - to die for. Staff are friendly and energetic - they...
