Visited Unst for the second time after 23 years. Stayed in a campervan on one of 5 hardstandings with electricity. Amazing views over Uyeasound. So peaceful with lovely wildlife around. Facilities kept so clean and everything available. All kept so well by Alison the warden. Fantastic hostel and highly recommended for a stay on Unst. So much to see on this inspiring island with such lovely local people to welcome you whist here. Thanks so much.

Really lovely friendly place to stay. Well equipped kitchen and laundry. Great views out from the lounge window. Great facilities. We were only there one night but could have stayed longer! We even saw otters in the bay!

Stayed for a night on a car camping trip around Shetland. A wide choice of camping areas around the central hostel building means there is likely to be a suitable pitch for most weathers. We had great weather and were right out the front overlooking the beach and Fetlar. Around the back was an area well sheltered by hedges if it was windy. Having access to the hostel facilities made life easier with comfortable seating and dining areas, and a good kitchen. The only slighty odd thing was the complete lack of a warden while we were there - all done on an honesty system. Unfortunately the great expereince here gave the other sites a lot to live up to, which they failed to do.

This is a true haven. A hostel which is relaxed, has excellent faclities and set on a beach in one my favourite locations. Goof transport facilities from Lerwick via bus and good access to what the lovely Unst has to offer. We were made most welcome. Thank you Alison!

I spent a week at the Gardiesfauld in August. It has lots of good facilities including a washing machine and a large, well equipped kitchen. There is a lot of space in the dorm, and it has a lovely view. The place is clean and well looked after. Great value, I definitely recommend it !
