Discovered wildings as we were passing by on a day out to culzean which we did not visit as they wanted 10.50 ahead just to see the park grounds not even the castle, so we thought we would stop somewhere for a nice lunch instead! So glad we did as we had a lovely lunch and the choices were fantastic...

I recently had dinner with friends and it was excellent, the food, service and great ambience. I had smoked haddock with bacon and cheese starter, best starter I have ever had. Everything was good, would not hesitate to return and recommend.

Stayed for four nights single occupancy in a large modern double room with a view over the bowling green and the harbour to the sea. I tend to be a bit suspicious when I see a big menu but the food was consistently very good, particularly the fish. They appear to have a loyal repeat clientele (including Tom Watson multi-major...

We drive for an hour from the central belt to reach this consistently good restaurant. The smoked haddock starter is superb. Equally terrific is the pork & banana, along with the chicken peri peri and the lamb. The fresh fish is a delight too.Too round of a fabulous meal, enjoy the many sweet treats from the chocolate orange pot to...

This is one of two hotels I had to call to make a reservation. They were punctual in getting back to me via email, but had to make the international call to provide my credit card information since their website does not have the capabilities to do online bookings. The parking lot was able to accommodate everyone, and was free....

My husband and I had a lovely meal here a few weeks ago. The food was really good the service was efficient and the girls serving were very pleasant. We had the 2 course for £20. We both had the goats cheese starter which was very generous. He also had the entrecote steak which he really enjoyed. If you want...

Wildings restaurant serves good food with a wide choice and a fixed price - £25 for three courses. The restaurant is immediately beside a small harbour at the end of a road. It has about eleven very spacious and modern rooms. A delightful and peacefully quiet place to stay. Very convenient for visiting Culzean Castle which is only about three...

Yet again a great night was had at Wildings, great food, wonderful staff and comfortable beds. Cassandra was fabulous and made us really welcome. The wee lad behind the bar was hilarious and the poor man who was the night porter must have been demented waiting for us to go to bed.

If there was a rating of better than excellent this hotel would get it every time. First and foremost the amazing Cassandra, who combines PR, receptionist, maitre d and helps out behind the bar and in the dining room and dispenses big smiles and friendly banter with the guests. This lady is worth her weight in gold. Next the food,...
