Made another return trip to Eastern TN and stayed at my favorite Smoky Mountains B&B. Chilhowee is as good as I remembered. This log cabin home is tucked on a mountain top just above the state line. Jim and Mary are gracious and attentive hosts, providing tips on local hikes and restaurants, serving hearty breakfasts, or simply letting guests relax...

Brilliant place and would recommend to anyone. The Forest room was great, views stunning, the hosts highly accommodating and the breakfast fantastic. It's a bit of an adventure to get too, but follow their instructions and it is easy enough and frankly if it wasn't you would miss out on the glorious seclusion.

We haven't given many 5 stars to b&b's in the past but Chilhowee is a joy to stay in and a pleasure to review. It's perfect! Located at an elevation of 2,200 feet on Chilhowee mountain, the lodge style retreat has three guest rooms. We stayed in the forest view room which is located in a separate building from the...

Couldn't have found a more perfect way to celebrate my husband's retirement. Our time on the mountain was the ultimate deep breath -- inhale, exhale, unwind, look ahead with joy and anticipation. CMR is the essence of Nature, the serenity of escape, the luxury of the finest accommodation and the balm of being pampered all rolled into one incredible experience...

A repeat of many other posts, but worth repeating. Everything was beautiful, clean, amazing views. And, the most comfortable bed ever! The ride up the mountain was scary/exciting/amazing. Worth the price of admission right there! Our trip was in October 2015, but there isn't an option for that.

Chilhowee Mountain Retreat is a perfect getaway, removed from the bustling traffic and noise, perfectly situated on top of the Chilhowee Mountain range west of Townsend (~45 min by car). It is a bit of an adventure just to find the retreat, meandering over twists and turns of mountain roads - delightful all by itself. The high elevation rewards visitors...

Weather was perfect, Jim and Mary are the most accommodating hosts! The property is beautiful, views are breathtaking, and we were in the mountain view room-amazing back porch. Well furnished room, all the details were taken care of. They had soda and water in the fridge, snacks on the sideboard, and lots of information for the rest of our trip!...
