We found this little gem of a B & B last minute. It was perfectly located near the ferry we were going to depart from early in the morning. Joy is wonderful! She did her best to make sure everyone is happy during her stay. Her breakfast was delicious!

Our recent stay was good. The rooms have been updated and good size. The owner, Joy, is amazingly helpful with your itinerary and making arrangements, and she makes a nice breakfast. The location in the area is good and walking distance to 3 distilleries, with a small hotel next door that provides a nice bar and great food for lunch...

Great location just off the ferry at Port Ellen. Our host, Joy, cooked some great breakfasts; Poached Haddock; Kippers and the full Scottish. We only needed a light lunch afterwards! The rooms were warm, spotless and my bed was really comfortable. Stefano Domenicali, if you ever visit Islay you have to stay here!

We absolutely loved our stay at Askernish. The room was huge, particularly the en-suite, with views of the sea. Breakfast was lovely and Islay itself is such as beautiful island, with the friendliest people. Joy really helped to make the holiday - she gave me advice about ferries and planning when I initially booked and after telling her I was...

We stayed with Joy for 4 nights during our distillery holiday last week. We couldn't have been happier with the accommodation and location. We had a lovely room with sea view and huge luxurious en suite. Breakfast was very tasty and Joy is really welcoming and easy to talk to. Ferry port is literally just around the corner. We were a group of 4 staying here for 3 nights. During our stay the hostess Joy did her utmost to make us feel welcome and see to it that we had a fantastic stay! She even called ahead to a distillery to make shure we could join a warehouse tasting later that morning. (It was a good thing she...

Askernish is a great place. Joy treats her guests like royals. Her breakfasts are to die for. A lovely B&B, great beds, clean, beautifull view and the kindest, warmest owner one can wish for. I'll be back!

This was a home away from home, Joy is a gem and made us feel so welcome! Our room was clean, comfy with a large new ensuite bathroom, breakfast was delicious and the location is very handy to the Port Ellen ferry.
