Had a lovely stay, Joy really looked after us with a great breakfast start to the day. Port Ellen is south-facing and the view from the room (see picture) looked like a tropical island. I recommend this for those looking for a homely slice of island-life.

We stayed here for 1 night in July 2015 during a trip through southern Scotland and Northern England. This was our first night of the trip and didn't quite know what to expect given that our last European adventures were on the Continent. We were very pleasantly surprised with the size of the room and ensuite! Much larger than we...

The rooms are very cozy (there is even some kind of "honeymoon suite" in which we stayed) and the breakfast is yummy (especially the kipper), but best of all is Joy making us feel welcome and somehow being at home. She had a lot of tips for our trip on Islay! Thanks for that!

Great B&B in a good location overlooking the harbour. Breakfast was very good. The room and common areas were very clean. Joy was very helpful and friendly. It was like staying with family, very relaxed.

Lovely B&B in Port Ellen pretty handy for exploring the island on Bus or Bike as we did. Joy is very welcomming to all! Room was fantastic, would definitely go back and stay. Loved the bathroom and was needed after all the cycling in the rain!

House has beautiful view of Port Ellen Bay and is ideally positioned for exploring the island. Great breakfast and choice each morning. Good advice offered on exploring areas and knowledge of whisky...

A colleague and I came to Islay after a conference in Dublin and decided to stay here based on the convenient location. We found a quiet and comfortable place to rest after several busy days, but were very pleasantly surprised by the hospitality provided by the proprietor, Joy. We really felt at home and comfortable and look forward to breakfast,...

Everything is perfect, and Joy will surely make it even better! Clean and large room, fresh cooked breakfast (try the fish!), good talks with Joy (just mention her about Ferrari and sit and hear about her amazing stories!) What to say more, highly recommended to anyone!

Nice place to stay and Joy was very helpful to all who stayed there (e.g. helping plan their whisky tour). Breakfast was quite acceptable but owing to the island nature, no fresh berries for example (we must have been spoiled elsewhere!). Room was big but a bit damp even in June! The heating helped no end. It is a very...
