I had a fantastic stay at 40 Pier Road. The rooms were beautifully decorated with a seating area, the bed was really comfortable, the and the breakfast really tasty! Couldn't recommend more highly. Eleanor has extensive knowledge about Islay so make sure you use the opportunity!

Great place to stay in Port Ellen. The rooms are very large, extremely comfortable and clean. Eleanor provided a delicious breakfast each morning. Perfectly located for visiting the Laphroaig, Ardbeg and Lagavulin distilleries - and if you enjoy walking take the "three distilleries walk" so you can enjoy your visit to the distilleries. If we ever visit Islay again, would...

We stayed in the Finlaggen Suite for 4 nights, and it was the best of all the places we stayed on our holiday. The room was spacious, quiet and very, very comfortable. The place is very close to the ferry terminal, but we were not disturbed by any noise from this. Every morning we had a brilliant breakfast served by...

Very nice, clean and warm B&B. The owner is very helpful with organizing your stay on Islay and sometimes even with transportation:). Localization of this B&B couldn't be better. It's just next to the ferry pier.

We rented the Finlaggen Suite, which was one of the most spacious rooms of our entire trip. Breakfast was great every day. We also received great advice on things to do and places to visit. I would recommend this place to anyone visiting Islay. Closest BNB to ferry terminal. Literally a walk.

We had originally planned to spend two days on Islay. However, our flight from Glasgow could not land, and our visit shrank to one day. Eleanor went out of her way to make sure we maximized our time on the island. She picked us up at the airport and made arrangements for us to have a car and driver to...

Very friendly, kind and welcoming b and b. A delicious and hearty breakfast was served each day. Good advice is offered for tourist ideas. Superbly positioned in Port Ellen and literally next door to the port (but beautifully quiet). We absolutely and unequivocally recommend.

My girlfriend and myself were staying in the Finlaggan Suite for three nights back in June. The ferry to Port Ellen virtually arrives at the doorstep of 40 Pier Road and we had been warmly welcomed by Eleanor. Our room was very clean and beautifully decorated with local goods. Eleanor prepared us wonderful delicious breakfasts, again with locally sourced products....

What a lovely stay we had, although only two nights, we stayed in the suite, views of the harbour, large bathroom. Eleanor served breakfast, all requests seemed to be no trouble, all served in a small first floor room with harbour view, all cooked fresh. Good location for ferry and local amenities.
