We sat in the lovely dining room next door (Loch Roag) having our breakfast and dinner, beautiful views across the loch towards Callanish and Kirkibost and, almost out of sight, three hundred yards away the house where I was born! We were at Eshcol, Neil Macarthur's excellent guest house in the west of Lewis village of Breasclete, where the practice...

We stayed three nights here and ate breakfast and dinner at the adjacent Loch Roag Guest House owned by Neil's son, Donald. Our room had a beautiful view of the loch. There were many special appointments like bottled water, and bathroom accessories we had not found in other locations. Everything was exceptionally clean. Our meals were outstanding, beautifully presented in...

A one night stay on Lewis to see the Callanish stones. This b&b is in 2 parts owned by a father and son. It's a little tired in decor but comfortable and clean. Ensuite with shower. Single room with a comfortable bed. You go across 100mts to the other house for meals. Lovely dining room with amazing views...food was delicious!!...

Our main goal on the island was to see the Callanish Standing Stones. This B&B is about a 5 min drive away from them. It was so cute and the father/son duo that ran it were extremely nice. The son, Donald, does the cooking and he is very good! The food was outstanding for dinner and breakfast. The room was...

The first night on the outer hebridies of our tour from north to south, therefore this was setting the tone of the whole holiday! Small b&b, with Donald's place 'Roag' next door, where dinner and breakfast were served. Nice room, which was a twin though quickly converted into a double for us, really good sized en suite shower room. Very...

Eschol and Roag Guest house are run by the same family, we found them most friendly and obliging. Some of the rooms and bathrooms are a little jaded. Never the less most comfortable and anything not to your liking will soon be sorted for you. Now the big plus, if you can book evening meals three courses for £20 bring...

Lewis was ruggedly beautiful, and Eschol was well positioned, in a quiet street off of the main road, within a mile of the ancient Callandish Stones. We stayed in a room with two single beds ('twin' in the US), which was smallish but clean, and had a nice size ensuite bathroom. We paid 80UKP for two people (August 2012). The...

We stayed 4 nights, just about the right length to see many of the sights and sites. It was good to be a 10-minute drive from the Standing Stones, since we found ourselves drawn to return there 3 or 4 times at different times of day. The breakfasts were fine, especially the kippers and the porridge -- and our one...

We recently stayed at Eschcol guest house. We tried to book into Loch Roag ( next door) but they had a more suitable room in the Eschcol. Although the room was a little basic, we had a really nice time for the 2 nights we stayed and would go back again. The breakfast ( served in the Loch Roag) was...
