We did not have advance reservations and had trouble finding to stay in Portree in mid-September in what we were told more than once had been a busier than usual season in the Highlands that was still going strong. Pier Hotel was the only place we found with 2 rooms for 2 couples for 2 nights. The room we had... More

We just left our 3 night stay here. When we pulled up and looked at the place, we wondered what could the rooms actually look like. Ours, a family room was huge, very comfortable, and had everything we needed. The rooms are over a bar and adjacent restaurant. We thought it might be a problem with late night noise, however... As everything in Skye this hotel was also very expensive but it was one of the few which was available. Rooms quite worn out and not in a very good shape. The wifi was not working either. So if you want to go to Skye book really in advance.

This hotel is lovely with a very quiet location on the pier in Portree. The staff was very friendly and helpful, always up for some banter! The breakfast was lovely. The room (family room) was big and warm, the beds very comfy.

After checking in to our hotel (The Rosedale, more on that later), we walked out and looked at the multicolored buildings on the harbor front in Portree and decided a pint would be good before wandering around the town. We entered the Pier hotel bar and were immediately involved in conversation with the locals before we had even got our... More

Loved my stay here whilst in Skye, Effie and Cat made such an effort to make our trip all the better. The hotel itself is right on the harbour, dont expect parking, this is Portree not a shopping centre. We were lucky to get parked directly outside, despite it was the height of June and the weather was amazing. The... More

Our trip to the Isle of Skye was last minute with no reservations...Very hard to find a place but Cat went out of her way and worked us in. She found a room for our daughters elsewhere and my wife and I stayed at the Pier. Incredibly accommodating and hospitable. Everyone was so friendly and it was the highlight of... More

Good place to stay in Portree. Got super lucky that there was a parking spot right across the street from the Hotel two days in a row! Busy place. We had to go into the bar to check in and the young lady grabbed the room key and took us right to our room and showed us everything we needed... More
