I stayed seven nights on a tour of Harris and Lewis. This is a great choice for visiting the southern parts of the islands, conveniently near the ferry. This is an old building so the noise carries between some rooms but it has been updated and Rooms were clean and comfortable, lashings of hot water better than many modern hotels I know but some rooms need supplementary heating in winter. Staff really friendly and a good restaurant too.

Find the four and five star reviews franky astonishing. On entering, the hotel has a distinct damp smell, our room was at the back of the hotel with views and smells over bins. We also clearly heard the staff changing and gathering room around 5am. Young people don't know quiet. The room was adequate although the decor was m than a little dated in its decor. The door to the room was about 150cm (5 foot 6) high. Unfortunately yet another hotel that does not invest in improving its facilities, will be lucky to last.

We spent 2 nights at this rustic hotel and we are happy with the experience. 100+ years old and is charming. We had room #10 and it was actually a suite. Warm and cozy with a comfortable bed. There are 2 sitting rooms, a large dining room, a bar with tables and if that isn’t enough, a pub next door which we did not visit. The only drawback is there is no lift, only stairs. The bathroom was well thought out and the building was quiet. Breakfast is included and was typical Scottish fare. Prices for dinner were 10-25 range. Attentive staff and friendly service. A welcoming place.

Our ferry was cancelled at short notice and we urgently had to find accommodation overnight. The Hotel's response was welcoming even though we weren't sure whether we'd be able to get a ferry later in the day and might have to cancel. Everyone was friendly and informative, with lovely waiting staff for the evening meal. They made us a great take away breakfast as we had to leave for the ferry early the following day. All in all, terrific service, thank you!

My husband, son and I had a wonderful stay at this lovely hotel. We were treated so well. The staff are so friendly and the food is great quality. We ate in the hotel restaurant and pizzeria and we were impressed by both. Thank you for such a lovely stay.
