This charming hotel in the heart of the Cairngorm National Park is run by Grant & Maria Mason and sits in a secluded location within the historic village of Braemar in Royal Deeside. Surrounded by mountains the hotel overlooks the famous Braemar Highland Games Gathering arena and is only yards from the Royal Pavilion. Recently refurbished the hotel offers a warm and friendly welcome, comfortable accommodation, fresh home cooked food and is the ideal base for outdoor activities all year round. Our fully licensed restaurant which is also open to the public offers a locally sourced and freshly cooked menu which changes on a daily basis. Our bar which is open to the public is a warm and comfortable area to enjoy a relaxing evening by the log burner. We have a fully stocked bar with various real ales, lagers, ciders and a large collection of Malt Whisky’s. We have a TV showing sporting events from Sky & BT Sports. Evening meals can be served in the bar and we are dog friendly so your four-legged friend can enjoy an evening with you. We also have an outside seating area where drinks & meals can be enjoyed (weather permitting) with fabulous views over the Highland Games arena. Dogs are also welcome in this area. There is ample parking in our private car park for cars, Mini Buses and motor cycles, and we have drying facilities for wet clothing and lockable storage for bikes.

On a wet afternoon we were glad to find the Moorfield as a cosy spot to watch a Scottish rugby match. When we arrived there were 2 other customers in the bar. 3 of us watched the first half of the match, with another 4...More

To clarify for almost 2 hours you were in the bar, between 8 of you, you had 1 pint, 4 1/2's of coke and two coffees, I even had to ask if you wanted the cokes after you sat for over 15 minutes without ordering...More

Initial impression of a” football bar” were quickly dispelled. Wonderfully welcome reception from the owner and locals. Excellent stock and knowledge of whisky. Realistic prices for a 35 ml - what else is there to say. Keep it secret or everyone will go there..... Sad...More

The location is outstanding. The hotel is located just behind the highland games site. It is a small family run establishment, serving Real Ale in the lounge. Braemar is a lovely rural village within close proximity to Balmoral castle, and walking distance to Braemar castle. Braemar...More

I can't say enough about how beautiful our room was - spotlessly clean, very comfortable bed, and gorgeous decor. The shower was especially nice. My only regret is that we were there for only one night.

This is a nice b&b in the charming town of Braemar, perfectly placed for exploring the Deeside area of the Cairngorms. The main building includes rooms, a lounge, a bar, and a restaurant. We stayed in an annex, perfect for a family or a group...More
