We stayed in a double room cabin last week for four days at the Braemar Lodge Hotel. On the grounds of the hotel, the wooden cabins are affiliated to the hotel, so you can self-cater and relax in your own space or go to the hotel ( 2 mins away) for a meal or a drink in their fabulous cosy bar. We arranged a last-minute deal directly with the owner, who was super helpful and gave us a good price for the stay. The hotel was easy to find, with plenty of parking and only a 5 minute walk from all the amenities of Braemar - other hotels/bars and restaurants, shops and a little Co-op. It was a perfect location - beautiful views and surroundings with walks for all levels straight from the hotel. We tried skiing at Glenshee and also visited local whisky distilleries and other towns in the area. We had hired a car from the airport which was a necessity. A great base to explore the Cairngorms. The hotel owners were super friendly and welcoming and the cabin was clean and charming with all the essentials that you'd need ( even tea towels and washing up liquid). The bed was comfortable and the shower was hot! It felt very secure and was quiet and private. You can even order takeaway food to be delivered to your cabin from the hotel. We enjoyed a couple of evenings in the bar, which was really warm and had a lovely atmosphere - wood-paneled walls, open fire, a well-stocked bar and lots of eclectic pictures and objects on the walls, we loved it and only a 2 minute walk back to the cabin! Not high-end but perfect for us and we'd definitely go back and would recommend to others!

What a pleasant surprise to find an old friend has reincarnated Braemar Lodge. Great food and ambience and a really chilled un-stuffy atmosphere topped by a pretty good wine list. Reminds me of the Alpaka Lodge in Tignes which is sadly no more. No tartan clad robots in this establishment instead you'll find team Charlie and father Malcolm delivering quirky good service which sets them apart from others. Already planning next stay.

What a fabulous hotel in stunning surroundings and what a wonderful two night break we had, we wish we could have stayed longer! The hotel is just gorgeous, with a roaring log fire in the cosy relaxing, well stocked whisky bar and completely dog friendly. The food was delicious, both at breakfast and in the evening. We stayed in one of the awesome log cabins on a bed and breakfast basis with our two Black labs. The cabin was so comfortable, spacious and cosy with lots of lovely touches like cosy throws, and cottage-style furnishings! Everything was spotless and nothing was too much bother for the friendly, hardworking staff! Thank you so much Charlie, your Dad and the team, we had the most wonderful break! The relaxed atmosphere and ambiance you have created was obviously appreciated by all the guests staying at the same time as us, as everyone was so friendly and happy to chat. We will definitely be back and can't recommend Braemar Lodge highly enough! Thank you again!
