Spent a night here with my husband when I was speaking at the Tarbert Book Festival. We had a lovely big room with a comfortable bed and en suite bathroom. Our very pleasant host made our stay a pleasure. Nothing was too much trouble, the surroundings were beautiful, everything was clean and fresh, had a great night's sleep, and the...

Most B&B's are a warm & comforting touch of home when you're on the road. A place where you are welcomed into a stranger's home and given somewhere to rest your head. A rare few are a step beyond and from the moment you walk through the door, you don't feel like a stranger, but family. This was one of...

The room was very comfortable, the pre ordered evening meal - excellent. The location, and the views stunning. We were on a walking holiday and were very late arriving for the night. Mobile phone coverage was very patchy, I had managed to contact Elizabeth about 7.15 to let her know we were on our way, but still up in the...

We had a lovely time here. Were in the village to see the location of original farm homesteads of our ancestors who emigrated from Clachan to Canada. The proprietor, Liz, was warm, welcoming, and most helpful with her knowledge of the area and tips for our travel onwards. She also gave us a truly Scottish experience. Room was large, clean,...

I stayed on the first night of the Kintyre Way and arrived after twenty or so miles on foot. Liz and John were so warm and welcoming. Tea and cake on arrival in the lounge, even though I was still in my sweaty gear. My room was immaculate and homely. I was travelling alone and invited to relax in the...

We stayed here for a couple of nights after having had a sublimely great time staying at New Orleans Cottage on the Killdalloig Estate down on the East coast. So it was a hard act to follow. But Elizabeth is a wonderful hostess. Nothing was too much trouble, she was friendly and welcoming but also careful to give us our...

A wonderfully comfortable and spacious place to stay. Elizabeth was enormously welcoming, providing the most delicious Victoria sponge cake and tea on arrival. Could have stayed much longer than two nights just to enjoy her cooking and the views from the dining room/conservatory. Wonderful selection at breakfast including berry fruits and home made yoghurt, as well as local black pudding,...
