Our first visit to the Royal an Lochan was a super mid-week break where we were made to feel very welcome. Our room was perfect with superb views across the Kyles of Bute. The hotel itself was beautifully furnished and retained a cosy comfortable feel where relaxing was easy. Kieth and Christine were very friendly and helpful. The food was...

Ive stayed here twice for business. Hotel is beautifully decorated and furnished.Spotlessly clean with very comfortable beds, slept like a log all 5 nights. Unobtrusive and friendly staff. Great little bar, good food and very decent portions. Highly recommend..

Super friendly service. The room was very spacious and modern, and still homely. The views are beautiful. And the lounge with the fires burning was bliss! The food was delicious! Over the course of the two nights I stayed, I had the scallops, venison, ham hock terrine, seafood platter, and sticky toffee pudding. Everything was cooked to perfection. The cooked...

we looked in with daughter and grandchildren for lunch and were not disappointed. Very friendly but unobtrusive service and really thoughtful meals with lovely varied salads. Possibly a tad expensive for chicken goujons but a lovely cosy bar with log fire warmed us nicely. Thank you

Visiting the Royal An Lochan Hotel for an overnight break away, we were happy with our lovely room overlooking the water of the Kyles across to the green and brown island of Bute. We were even happier with the wonderful meal. I enjoyed a delicious pepper and goat's cheese terrine followed by a simply wonderful cod bouillabaisse with scallops, mussels,...

We booked a last minute night db&b on a bit of a whim. Lovely location, welcoming hosts who weren't intrusive and a lovely chilled out meal in the bar at night. The sea view room came into its own as we watched the hills on Bute turn red with the setting sun and the colours lit up the sky at...

The hotel is beautiful, as is Tighnabruaich. Our room was huge and beautifully decorated with a lovely big bed. The en-suite bathroom was also very large with a lovely big bath tub. We had wonderful views of the sea from our large bedroom windows. The first night we dined in the restaurant, which was very lovely. The second night we...

We visited this hotel on a mid-week break during October and found it to be lovely. We paid extra for a room with a sea view and it was well worth it. The sunrise every morning was beautiful. Our room was really big and spacious. The bed was massive and really comfortable. I normally struggle to sleep when we're away...

We had a two night break in a sea view room. The view is magnificent and we thoroughly enjoyed our time. Breakfast is delicious - having noted some reviews we wondered if it would be substantial and indeed it was. Haggis, black pudding, bacon, egg, sausage, potatoe scone and tomato with offers of extra toast and hot drinks. We ate...
