Great hotel and fabulous staff. Arrived late as the kitchen was closing but staff very helpful and we had a great meal. It is a rural location with fantastic views and we were fortunate to have great weather. Good location if you like to go for a run with absolutely gorgeous views and a drive over from the Isle of...

This was our second lunch at the Kames. In summary; the place is lovely, nicely decorated with a nice view. The food isn't great and the barman was surly the point of being ridiculous. Maybe he thinks he's being cool, with his air of nonchalance but he comes across as being unfriendly and almost threatening in his demeanour. Such a...

Stayed here last summer. Had two rooms . Family room for moi, hubby and two teenage girls. Single room for Mother. Family room was more than adequate, nicely furnished and decorated but tinsy shower room which was in need of a good bleach. Not dirty just the black stuff which makes one cringe . Mothers room, for a single was...

Been here a good few times over the years & it's always a treat come rain or shine. A fab pit stop on a day out in Argyll's Secret Coast away from it all, or a great base from which to explore the area (check out the bathroom with the black & white tiled floor!). Enjoyed quiet times as a...

We stopped for lunch just before 2pm and asked if they were still serving food and a rather grumpy man said we were just in time. There was no atmosphere in the pub as there were no other diners. The food was not very exciting, very average and reasonably expensive for what it was. Service was adequate. Maybe we just...

The Kames Hotel must be situated in the most picturesque setting, the view from the hotel is mesmerizing! Inside the bar is a nice wee snug joined on to the Restaurant, which is dominated by a pool table, not the sound I want to listen to looking at the loch and enjoying my dinner to be fair. The cheeseburger was...

We booked this hotel without any preconceptions. When we arrived we were upgraded to a superior room - with fabulous views over the Kyles of Bute. The room was clean and the bed very comfortable. I liked the traditional furniture. Dinner was fantastic and the wine very reasonably priced. Breakfast was good. My only disappointment was the cabbagy smell in...

After having visited this hotel on sailing holidays we thought we would give it a try to stay over. Positives. Lovely situation. Very friendly staff always ready for a chat. Beautiful views and very quiet. Good food in particular the fish dishes. Drinks not too expensive. Negatives ( not many) Hotel has atmosphere and is clean but is a bit...

We stayed here for two nights in August and found the location and the views absolutely stunning. The food in the hotel was nice and the room was great - the bed was particularly comfortable! The only downside to our stay was that it was fairly noisy in the evening. For most people this might not be a problem but...
