We stopped for lunch just before 2pm and asked if they were still serving food and a rather grumpy man said we were just in time. There was no atmosphere in the pub as there were no other diners. The food was not very exciting, very average and reasonably expensive for what it was. Service was adequate. Maybe we just... More

The Kames Hotel must be situated in the most picturesque setting, the view from the hotel is mesmerizing! Inside the bar is a nice wee snug joined on to the Restaurant, which is dominated by a pool table, not the sound I want to listen to looking at the loch and enjoying my dinner to be fair. The cheeseburger was... More

We booked this hotel without any preconceptions. When we arrived we were upgraded to a superior room - with fabulous views over the Kyles of Bute. The room was clean and the bed very comfortable. I liked the traditional furniture. Dinner was fantastic and the wine very reasonably priced. Breakfast was good. My only disappointment was the cabbagy smell in... More

Beautiful views and very quiet. Good food in particular the fish dishes. Drinks not too expensive. Negatives ( not many) Hotel has atmosphere and is clean but is a bit... More

We stayed here for two nights in August and found the location and the views absolutely stunning. The food in the hotel was nice and the room was great - the bed was particularly comfortable! The only downside to our stay was that it was fairly noisy in the evening. For most people this might not be a problem but... More

The Kames Hotel has a warmth and friendliness about it that you feel as soon as you walk through the door. Our small double room was as described but clean and comfy with a view from the bed that made you feel anything but cramped. Breakfast was excellent and we ate a wonderful dinner here too after taking part in... More

My husband and I booked this hotel last minute. What a little gem it was. Friendly staff, great food & a nice room. Room was clean and comfortable, en-suite could do with updating. Food was fantastic we both had beer battered haddock with chips, the fish was perfectly cooked. Views of the Kyles of Bute is amazing. The bars have... More

I booked this as a last minute booking. I booked direct with the hotel and it was easy to do. The rooms are a bit dated, however why worry when the best parts of this hotel is downstairs. The staff are so welcoming when you get there and this is not s flash in the pan. The food is fantastic,... More
