The last time we stayed here it was a small hotel guest house nearly twenty years ago. The building has been well maintained as has the gardens. We were glad to have made a return visit now that we are retired and revisiting old memories. Still has great views and although it has a small number of rooms our room... More

What a nice place to stay. We had a wonderful view of the Clyde from our room window. The room itself was very comfortable and clean. Loved the breakfast served, especially the fresh, homemade bread. Joan made us feel right at home whilst Andy, a very warm and jovial chap (great Scotsman yet with posh English accent), was always there... More

My girlfriend and I stayed here for a weekend whilst looking at Wedding venues on Bute. The rooms were great, the view from morning to night was spectacular and the food in the morning was just what we needed before a day of exploring. The hosts were full of local knowledge and made some fantastic recommendations. Parking also available. Thanks... More

We spent 2 night at Munro's We were warmly welcomed, Room we had the most amazing views (room2) bed so comfy, nice bathroom. Very comfortable. Breakfast was great, plenty choice and cooked to order. Breakfast was in the conservatory with those great views once again. Joan kindly booked us a table at local resturant Harry Haws, which was nice. We... More

Coming from America with jet lag and all, we were given the warmest of welcomes followed by a clean and very spacious room. Next day we woke up to a breathtaking view of Rothesay Bay followed by a healthy breakfast of yogurt and fruits. (Fully cooked breakfast available too). Joan and Andy, with their vast knowledge of Bute, were always... More

We stayed in Munro's in September when we were in Rothesay for a wedding. Our ferry had been delayed because of the weather but we arrived at Munro's to a warm welcome and Joan managed to book dinner for us in town immediately. It was very relaxing - front door open at all times, lovely smell from woodburner, bright and... More

Detached house up steep hill.Adequate room with very small shower in en suite. Approx 1 .5 miles from Rothesay town centre. Dogs allowed. Breakfast was OK, certainly not over-generous. Hosts were pleasant.

Finding a dog friendly B&B is quite difficult so finding one of this excellent standard is a real bonus. The views from the breakfast room are outstanding, rooms very comfy, breakfast top notch with their own home baked bread! When we return to Bute, they will get the first call!

Joan and Andy's gracious hospitality and beautiful house made for a wonderful base for our two-day stay on the Isle of Bute. Room 2 (upstairs) and room 6 (downstairs) were lovely and offered amazing views - as did the wintergarden where we lingered over the delicious breakfast of fresh fruit, bread baked by Andy, and an optional full Scottish with... Munro's is on a residential road and is the most discrete B & B I have ever come across. The only indication of it is the number on the gatepost. When you pull in to the drive there is a simple, but tasteful sign "Munro's B & B" on the house wall. Our room was beautifully furnished and huge!. It... More
