Stayed at this hotel on the 11th November for 3 nights on a Shearings coach holiday. There have been complaints about some of the rooms at this hotel which I have read on Trip Advisor so I was a bit sceptical. I booked a superior room which I do recommend to do. Our room was huge with a brilliant sea... More

We took a short break here and thoroughly enjoyed our stay, which was excellent value for money. The staff were, without exception, friendly and helpful. As a whole, the hotel is perhaps a little shabby, but it is clean and comfortable. There's a refurbishment programme under way. Unfortunately, it hadn't reached our room which suffered a few minor problems such... More

Just had a 4day break with shearings, the hotel is an old building with loads of character. Our room was at the front with a great view of the Clyde. The rooms are clean and we had our room tidied each day. Stayed in hotels at this time of year before and have struggled to keep warm but the heating... More

This is the third time I visit this Place, its located in a lovely position facing hills and mountains and the firth of the Clyde. The hotel is situated on a hill, and very peaceful, quiet, but not really accessible for the walking disabled, but they do provide lifts to floors. The Glenburn hotel is warm and cosy, rooms are... Stayed for 2 nights as part of a coach trip (our first!). Having read previous reviews (as I always do), I had an idea of what to expect. The hotel is undergoing major refurbishment, so please bear this in mind. It is a large, magnificent building, which has a lot of character. The location superb! As with a lot of... More

Many thanks for taking the time to give us your thoughts on your stay with us. We have the two bars as you are already aware off. We close the bar downstairs at 10pm every night as there is just not enough demand to keep it open. The ballroom bar stays open until entertainment is finished late in the evening.... More

For value for money, a 4 a 4 day break is hard to beat. Yes, as you will have previously read, it is being modernised and does need it, but the place has bags of character, warmth and is welcoming. It's like going back 30 years, but for us we had what we needed. Food was good, decent choice in... More

Visited 24th to 28 October. Booked through Shearings. On arrival we were very impressed at the look of the hotel, given room 215 we became a little disheartened. The room was dated, decor was in major need of updating. The bathroom was a disgrace and in my opinion not cleaned. As we were concerned of the hygiene level we cleaned... More

Visited for 1st time via coach break having had Isle of Bute recommended. Hotel location very good (slight climb from Prom) but view is amazing.
