We stayed in this lovely quiet Hotel for 2 nights. We choose the Kennedy Room which overlooks the Firth of Clyde. You have to be ‘capable’ to get to this room as the lift doesn’t go that far. Paid a little extra for this larger room but it was worth it just for the view. The Hotel is ‘family run’... More

Very friendly hotel, with great food. Ideally situated to make the most of the island. The hotel is on a hill with great views over the sound to the mainland. Our stay was three nights and we ate in the hotel for one of them, The menu was good and the food excellent. I would recommend this hotel and for... More

Very friendly and helpful staff. Our room overlooked the lake and although the bed was not the most comfortable, the room was very nicely decorated, clean and spacious. The evening meal was of a very high standard. Continental breakfast was ok though the bread was cheap, thin sliced stuff that I would never buy; however, the cooked breakfasts were only... More

Let's start with the only positive about this place: the food. We had dinner when we stayed there and I'd rate it not only very good and nicely presented but also very good value for money compared with other places we've been. The continental breakfast was fine but I can see why others, especially foreigners, might not be happy not... More

My partner & I visited here in August and were blown away at how amazing this hotel was. Family run (family are lovely). Rooms are great. We stayed in the Sutherland suite which was perfect. We ate in the hotel once for breakfast & once for dinner. Choice for breakfast was great. Dinner was AMAZING. Bute is a quiet island....there... More

Family run, very laid back and relaxed, my patrner had a bad back and we got upgraded for a small amount to the suite, ok the retaurant can be closed some nights but was well advised of where to go, the only complaint was a lack of red wine choice for dinner and the option given was certainly not in... Booked this as a Groupon deal but when tried to book the only room left was the Montgomery Suite which was their best room so had to pay a £30 surcharge to cover the 2 nights. The staff were very friendly and pleasant. The room was very spacious and comfortable. Bed was comfy. A huge big window overlooking the sea... More

I stayed here for a couple of nights with my partner. The hotel room was very clean although it was very small. There are larger rooms available that face the water though. The bathroom was carpeted which kept the room warm however there was no curtain over the bathroom window so you could see out to the street while showering.... More

Lovely, friendly, warm hotel within easy walking distance of the town. Staff can't do enough to help and have a good supply of umbrellas which they are happy to.lend. Food is home cooked and excellent, can't recommend it highly enough.
