We stayed at the Black Bull during the Commonwealth Games and it was an ideal base for getting into Glasgow and also exploring the Trossachs and Loch Lomond. The double room was spacious and tidy. The hotel is part of the village pub and it had a friendly feel to it (plus a good range of whiskey). Andrew, Liz and...

While staying in Aberfoyle we used the road to Stirling and noticed a board indicating meals at the Black Bull Hotel, Gartmore and that Wednesday night was steak night, We went and what a delight to find this hidden jem. Upon entering we were greeted like long lost family and it was pointed out tonight was steak night which meant...

Myself and my partner were here on the 12/07/14. It was advertised at the reception at Trossachs Holiday Park where we were staying for the weekend. We both found the food to be of good quality. I had the black pudding fritters followed by the home made burger. My partner had the garlic bread followed by the jerk chicken. We...

Working in the top end of the travel industry, I get to eat a lot of fine food all around the world. The food at the Black Bull is a match for anything I have eaten anywhere. It is always telling how well cooked 'simple' food is. The chips were simply amazing, the burger delicious and the starters a revelation....

Took my Nan and Auntie here last night, despite the main room being used for a function they seated us in the "Red Room" a small dining room which was ideal as we had a lovely table next to the window, able to use the coat stand rather than having them on the back of our chairs. Although there was...

Great little restaurant, food is fantastic and friendly staff, very welcoming. Worth a visit if you are in the area. We stayed at Cobleland campsite, which is very short drive away. The most amazing chips ever!!!

Liz and Andrew are exemplary hosts and everyone does their best to ensure that our stay is productive and enjoyable. At the end of each retreat, Liz makes us a...

When recently staying in the area during a holiday w/c 21st Oct 2013, we were told about the Black Bull, and lets just say it was so good, we ate here more than anywhere else when eating out during our stay. There is a good choice of food and portions are a good size. Staff are really friendly and nothing...

My partner and I ate at the Black Bull on Friday 2nd August evening, without a reservation they were able to accommodate us. I had the soup of the day (leek and potato homemade- Yum!) and Jerk Chicken with rice. My partner had Tempura Prawns and Steak cooked Medium Rare - and came out perfect. There was no room for...
