Travellers' Choice
Set in the picturesque village of Rhu overlooking the Firth of Clyde, near Loch Lomond the four star Rosslea Hall Hotel offers you a choice of traditional elegance and modern facilities. Our award winning Restaurant and wedding venue are famed for the quality of food and service. Built in 1849 by Architect Daniel Walkinshaw, who was so enamoured by Italy in general, decided his house should be italian in style and built on the shores that most resembled his loved Bay of Naples. To this day, with its bell tower clearly visible from the peninsula in Rhu Rosslea still has the Italianate flavour.

I stayed here for one night following a funeral gathering. Staff were welcoming and organised it so that I could access my room early to change for the funeral, which was excellent, but they really struggled to organise a coffee for me while I waited for the room. Room was rather tired but adequate. Comfortable bed. Room service evening meal was delivered quickly and was vey tasty. Breakfast the next morning was different! I'd been told breakfast was served until 10am. Arriving at 9.40 and choosing the continental breakfast (full Scottish or continental were included in the room rate) there was no bread, no butter, no fresh fruit, no yoghurt and just a few sad looking pastries on display. I had to ask for absolutely everything. My overall impression is that they have wonderful, charming and polite, but inexperienced and very young staff whom managers have failed to train properly and that managers have failed to implement the proper processes to ensure that guests' requests can be met.

A warm welcome from A lovely lady on reception. the room itself was clean and if we could have slept would have been good value for the money, our room 24 was located right above the heating pump which gave a constant buzzing noise making it impossible to get a good sleep waking us up through the night!.if you are allocated this room be aware of this ! There are breakfast options available we looked at the continental buffet and this couldn't have been more disappointing!!.there was 2 pastries and one glass with what looked like toned fruit? I can say though the cooked breakfast was perfect in every way. The young guy serving us again was really helpful offering great service. If it wasn't for the lack of sleep this would have been a perfect stay!.

We hadn’t even stopped at this hotel , inly precooked, to nave told the day before the restaurant was closed and basically tough, no offer of a reduced rate, even a free drink in the bar may have been accepted. The fact we would have been travelling 10 hours to get there and didn’t wish to leave the hotel for an evening meal didn’t seem to register, anyway, cancelled and found a cheaper more customer focused hotel

Stayed a couple of times while on business, the staff are lovely, the menu is limited but great quality. Rooms are lovely, the location in relation to the church tower that chimes every quarter may be annoying to some people but i found it charming and reassuring, it didnt stop me from sleeping at all.
