I stayed here in April whilst walking the west highland way. It's a very clean hostel with good facilities. The kitchen was very well eqiupped and I was impressed to see that recycling was taken seriously. There are laundry facilities (inc tumble dryer). A shop onsite stocks some necessities and the centre of town is only a 5 minute walk....

I visited the By the Way Hostel as part of a group doing winter skills training for mountain rescue, and found it clean, warm and well equipped. I was disappointed that the 2 plug sockets in our twin room were 'round pin' which I thought were illegal now, but stopped us using the plugs for anything other than the low...

We use the campsite quite often in our motorhome travels but never written a review. Our recent visit was as great as always. One real plus was snow. Also many thanks to Kirsty who washed our pup's bedding after travel sickness! Much appreciated.

Highly recommended to have a hostel stop when you're walking the West Highland Way! It allows you to do laundry and feel refreshed. Great drying facilities. Laundry machine was about £2 a load. They had a comfortable communal area which was great to relax in. Room 8 had a bunk bed and two regular beds for four people which makes...

Great place to stop off whilst walking the WHW. Owner very friendly and helpful. Cabins nice and warm and bunk beds comfy! Good to have a kettle and microwave in there and a midge screen over one of the windows to allow you to get fresh air! Will be back ☺

On initial arrival, site & trekker/hobbit huts look lovely! Trekker hut internal basic & smelled musty. Microwave & kettle provided. No ensuite facilities, communal toilet/shower block a 2 minute walk away (not good during the night when cold & tired). Small basic shop on site where towels can be hired. Breakfast/eateries a 10 walk away on main road. If your...

I am sorry to hear that you did not enjoy your stay with us. The website does mention that the trekker huts do not have toilets and showers. The camping facilities are very close to the trekker huts. The very short walk into the village can be taken along the West Highland Way.

I'm not one for writing reviews but felt I had to comment on the great service and hospitality me and my mates received at this campsite. Myself and three friends were doing the West Highland Way over two days on mountain bikes and this was our overnight stop off. We took our overnight bags up the day before; clean clothes...

It was great to meet you, and it certainly was no trouble storing your bags. Hope to see you again in the near future, and with a bit of luck, you might get good weather again!
