Room was ok needed decorated but we were only sleeping in it,,bed was comfy and spotless with pure white bedding,, breakfast very tasty and plenty of it ,,hotel was close to all bars and restaurants,,lovely village quiet and peaceful,,will definitely be back,,Thankyou Alistair,,x

Had a 2 night stay here for 4 and a dog in two rooms . Cost was 28 per person per night and can't imagine where one could comfortably stay for that price ! Location was fab , breakfast quick , grease free, yummy and plentiful . Rooms were comfy , clean had all you could need . Yes the...

On entering main door. Notice the pile junk mail at door. Door and area not been washed in a while. On entering. Found a strong odour of stale smoke or just musty. Pictures all yellow stained. The Guest House does look a bit tired but was very clean and tidy. New spotless white bedding and towels. Alastair the owner was very friendly and nothing seemed too much trouble for him. Our small dog was very welcome and our front view room had a fabulous view of the harbour. I would definately stay again and have recommended...

I need to warn people about this establishment. We've visited Portpatrick on 5 occasions and normally stay at the fabulous Waterfront Hotel, but this time thought we'd save and go cheaper, big mistake....Stayed here at Carlton Guest House, two couples, two rooms, July 2011.
