Just got back from our annual golf weekend in Portpatrick staying once again at the Downshire. Jenny as usual was very helpful during the planning of our trip booking both the accommodation and the golf. The hotel is right in the middle of the town and close to the golf courses at Portpatrick Dunskey and Stranraer (our courses of choice)...

Stayed here with a bunch of golfing friends. Food in the restaurant for breakfast and dinner cannot be faulted. However rooms are old, antiquated and need of some modernisation. there for 2 days and had to endure cold water shoers, didnt matter what time of the day. TV didn't work. One of my golfing friends encountered a'tick' embedded in his...

It is very unfair that someone can put a review on which is totally untrue. All our laundry is done by a professional company. This is possible a competitor trying to run us down if not I would like to hear form the person concerned. Please contact me Paul Phillips

Stayed here over the weekend with friends. A large group, 6 adults and 4 kids, we stayed in the 3 storey holiday home attached to the pub. Accommodation was beautiful, fully fitted kitchen, 2 double rooms and a triple. Only 1 bathroom tho, small WC on bottom floor but could do with another shower room at least. We went to...

My husband and his 4 friends cycled down and stayed here one night at a cost of £55 for DBB. The hotel allowed for him to take their bags down the week before and leave them there for them arriving. They had a superb stay from start to finish. They said both the dinner and the breakfast was great quality...

The atmosphere in the bar was warm and friendly which enabled us to have a relaxing meal. The open coal fire also helps people feel at home. Will visit again on our...

I've stayed at this hotel a long time ago. As we were staying at a guest house this time, we needed to find a place for a meal. I've never seen Portpatrick so quiet (evening of 21 March) and we were the only ones in the restaurant. The staff were very hospitable and we both had fish. Nice restaurant upstairs....

We had a family stay at portpatrick and found this pub to be teenager friendly. They could play juke box and play pool until their hearts content! Friendly staff made us feel welcome, also good atmosphere and food. Lively bar and suited us all, spend a Saturday afternoon in here.
