Cliff top setting of hotel and views are amazing. Stepped footpath down cliff from hotel grounds provides access to harbour area of village. Staff were pleasant and friendly. Room was clean and warm with comfortable bed (double not king) and interconnected room with two armchairs and tv. Bathroom was basic and a bit dated with over bath shower and shower curtain. Good choice of cooked and continental breakfast items but currently no evening meal provision. Overall, nothing fancy but reasonable value for what we paid on B&B deal

One of the nicest hotels we have ever stayed in! From the moment we checked in, to the moment we left, everything was wonderful. Beautiful hotel room, stunning location, cosy little bar, all topped off with friendly service where nothing was any trouble. Special thanks to Gail for everything! A memorable 60th for the other half for sure. Can't wait to come back, next time we'll be bringing our dog. Maria & Adi

The cosy little pub had some of the most delicious sea food I've had in a while. The mussels were so fresh, delicious and light and the main course of duck was cooked perfectly. I can't wait till I have the chance to come back here and perhaps try the lobster! 100% must visit if in Portpatrick. Staff were very kind and friendly ass well. Thank you!

We stayed a few days here as part of a coach tour of Galloway. I had read some awful reviews of the hotel, but the new owners have made renovations to the hotel as this can be seen downstairs. Ignore the critics as the staff were brilliant and couldn't be more helpful. The food was varied and delicious and the bar prices on par to those in a pub. The only drawback was that you had to request for your room to be serviced but the bed was comfortable

Beautiful hotel but I feel the hotel lacked some soul due to the staff. Reception was often unattended. The young lady often at reception seldom smiled and was always cold when spoken to. Restaurant staff were curt and the breakfast was a real disappointment. However I gave it three stars because the location is fantastic with amazing views. Free parking. If the staff were more friendly, attentive and passionate, I would have given this hotel 5 stars. Also the chef only released the menu for dinner at 5pm! Never come across this before and it’s appalling. How do you expect guests to plan dinner when the chef refuses to decide a menu until 5pm?

This hotel sit on top of a hill with spectacular views of the town of Port Patrick. This hotel is situated in the town of Port Patrick. It sits up on a hill and looks down on the town with the benevolence and wisdom of an elder statesman. The views from the hotel are spectacular. There is plenty of car parking available and if the main car park is full there is an overflow car park just up the road. The staff were all friendly and helpful and gave our little dog lots of attention. In fact they like dogs so much that they have a jar of dog treats on the reception counter. The room was a good size. The bed was excellent. It was very supportive and was extremely comfortable to sleep in. We had a bed and breakfast rate and the included breakfast was excellent. I really liked this hotel. The location, the friendly staff and stylish hotel interior made for an unforgettable stay.

We Stayed 1 night Bed and Breakfast and as most people say great views from the hotel but,,, it needs a lot of money spent on it to bring it up to standard the noise and rattles from the windows when its windy kept us wakened most of the night that was in all 3 rooms that we had breakfast left a lot to be desired for, fried potato bread that was tuff and not fresh, sausages tasteless and warm bacon at least we were able to help ourselves to beans and toast could be a nice hotel but I'm afraid its going down hill unless there's changes made starting with the kitchen staff are great, friendly and very helpful

Perched on the cliff top with an unhindered view out to sea, this is an awesome setting. The hotel is pleasant with the character you would expect, given its age. With a room with its own door directly out on to a patio area, the accommodation was ideal. Breakfast was good. Staff, on the whole were friendly although reception was unmanned each time tried to speak with someone. Ample parking.

To the staff of the Portpatrick. Thank you for being the friendliest hotel staff I've met. From restaurant to bar and front of house n everything in between, nothing was too much trouble and everything done with a smile. Love n luck to you all. Almost forgot the kitchen, wow ,whether breakfast or evening meal the food was delicious, way above many other hotels we've stayed in...keep doing as you are, thank you . My only query is ... when are management going to upgrade the bathrooms oh and please fix the window in 218. Shearings... lovely coaches ,tours need attention, 2 hrs in a town with no attractions is not good nor is a silent driver, I'll leave that there as I expect you'll hear more from others . Foot note ... being disabled ♿ you have limitations on leaving the grounds but the scenery is so spectacular i have never wanted to leave the grounds. So much to just sit and watch despite this being my 3rd visit ,I never bore of the views ,binoculars are a must .
