Stayed for one night in summer if you can call it that in July, the weather was constant rain so not sure we got to see the best of the hotel and grounds. The hotel is a regular stop for Shearings coach trips, not really sure that this makes much difference but does keep the hotel busy which is good...

Thanks for the review. The tariff on display are per person prices, so your booking.com special offer, was a special offer.

This hotel is situated in a superb location overlooking Portpatrick Harbour. We had an excellent room with wonderful sea views. The room was clean and well appointed. The food was excellent with one exception, the hard, frozen brussel sprouts. The staff were friendly and helpful. There are some great coastal walks from the hotel. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who would like...

Thanks for the review and thanks for the recommendation. This is a beautiful corner of Scotland that is so often missed by tourists who think Edinburgh and the Highlands are all Scotland have to offer.

Thanks for writing. I’m glad you enjoyed your stay. The rooms at the front may have a more attractive view, they are not all necessarily better rooms.

We made a late booking at a good price - had a two-bedroom apartment with OK kitchen and lounge and bedroom overlooking the harbour. Excellent base for cliff-top walk. Small gold course across the road and down the steps to the Excellent Crown with its sea-food menu. Well worth a stay!

A magestic & impressive hotel which was built in 1905. It has been modernised & the room we stayed in had purple chairs & lime green curtains, perhaps not quite what one would expect! Unfortunately the bed was hard despite being given an extra duvet to sleep on!There was a good choice of foods from the menu which was tasty....

Thanks for the review. I have to say you are the first to say they don’t like the new beds. They must be more firmer than you are used to. I am glad you enjoyed your stay here at the Portpatrick Hotel.

I had great expectations of my three bedroom sea view apartment for my overnight stay. I booked my overnight stay through booking.com and the apartment only cost £69 (excl breakfast) however felt this was a bargain and booked as I'd heard great things about the town itself. The hotel's location has beautiful views of the sea which is lovely and...

Thanks for the review. I’m not sure where you seen pictures of sliding patio doors, but its not from this hotel. The bedroom and kitchen doors should not be wedged open at all as they are fire doors so I shall look into this. I’ll renew the ironing board if required. Sorry you couldn’t get your way into the hotel...

We paid for a front room and it was well worth it. The room had lovely views, a very comfy bed and a modern bathroom. The staff made us feel very welcome and the food was very tasty, well presented and served by attentive staff. We look forward to our next visit.

This was our second visit and we are already planning our third. We stay in the Premier accommodation which is very good indeed but there does appear to be some significant gap between Premier and Standard. The view from our room was superb and it completely met our needs with dressing room and bathroom that contained a bath and a walk...

Thank you for the review. Anyone who requests extra toiletries and towels receive them without question. The request system seems to be acceptable for the vast majority of the guests. It is to help with our carbon footprint which we are trying to reduce as all companies are.
