The Hotel is not on the beaten track and is probably not on the most scenic area of the Solway. The Hotel is in good condition and clearly well maintained. The Restaurant is well fitted and fairly popular for a quiet area. The menu has some interesting takes on the food offering and is clearly cooked by a good chef...

I had this hotel recommended mainly for the excellent food, but the rest of the hotel was up to the same high standard. Very comfy beds with a beautiful view of the solway firth bay. All the usual trimmings in the room with the added bonus of a coffee machine. Staff couldn't do enough. Breakfast was very enjoyable and of...

Unfortunately my wife and I have never managed to eat at the hotel since it was taken over last year, which we deeply regret. We were joined for dinner by friends who are restauranteurs in Argyle and they even commented on the quality and the variety of dishes which were all out of this world. We were very impressed with...

Drove up from Manchester to meet my Dad for lunch at the Powerfoot Hotel. Dad had visited when my Mum was alive but it had changed a lot since then. Beautifully decorated, very warm and cosy with fantastic views looking over to Cumbria. I am a vegan and my husband rang before our visit to make sure there would be...
