On arrival the staff were very welcoming and as one of our party had injured his foot and was on crutches they moved us to a Club ground floor chalet. The brand new cotton duvet sets were of good quality and you could take them home if you wanted to. The chalet was very clean and had new duvets pillows and curtains. The windows were clean too. So much nicer than we expected. All communal areas and toilets were very clean with a cleaner clearing tables in the entertainment room. Pontins Prestatyn is a 5 minute walk away from the beach. Lots of lovely walks along the coast among the sand dunes and very quiet. We stopped off for a hot chocolate at the Beaches hotel. We had teens ages 14 and 15 who enjoyed the swimming and arcades. For a budget weekend everyone really enjoyed themselves and we even had a bit of mid October sun. It was a great base to enjoy the surrounding area. We would return.

Room was filthy, beds uncomfortable, upgraded room was a joke. Ended up sleeping on my camping mat on the floor. Entertainment staff however, were great. Would not visit a Pontins again. Also did not respond at all to my complaint via the online route. Enjoyed our holiday but the place is an absolute dump!!

Myself and my daughter travelled to Pontins Prestatyn 13th September for a 4 night mid week stay. Obviously we were well aware that this is a budget cheap break but would have been happy if the basic accommodation had been clean and fit for purpose. I upgraded to a Club apartment to ensure that it would have had at least the basic requirements for our stay. All I expected was a clean bed and bathroom. We had already intended to just use it as a base to go walking and sightseeing in North Wales. On arrival, I suggested that we took a look at the room before we took out luggage out of the car... I am soooo glad we did? The exterior of the chalet door was covered in black filth. The interior was even worse. Dirty floors, dirty mattresses and filthy bathroom which looked as though it has not been cleaned in the past 6 months. I immediately went to reception and ask for another room which had been cleaned, however was told in no uncertain terms "They are all like this". I stated that I was not able to stay due to filthy living standards and the young receptionist was very apologetic and gave me a copy of the complaint form suggesting I complain online. We ended up leaving and had to pay again to stay on a different holiday park so in effect paid twice for the same holiday. It has now been over a month since our visit to Pontins and although I have sent several emails and has back '5 ticket numbers' I am yet to receive any response or refund. When I have telephoned, after a 20 minute wait- I have been met with rude, abrupt service agents who are not interested in any complaint and refuse to discuss the matter. I have decided the next course of action is trading standards and to contact the press. A company as big as this should not get away with treating it's customers with such disregard. I also notice the company is located officially in Jersey, so not only do they treat it's customers with contempt they also most likely avoid paying their fair share of tax. I would not advise anyone to book to stay here.
