After delays due to moving into my new house I was staying in the Travelodge Halkyn for a few weeks whilst everything was getting sorted.

All of the staff were very friendly and welcoming and had no issues catering to my needs during my long stay. The room was very clean, with tea/coffee making facilities regularly topped up and also spares readily available in reception. The bed was extremely comfortable and I never once not had a good sleep. The Wi-Fi was fast and affordable (I was paying a week at a time so this made it cheaper than paying daily).

All popular towns are easily accessible via the A55 and I was never left empty handed.

Lovely hotel, just a little in the middle of nowhere but we knew that when we booked. There is only a burger king on site for food, and the opening times are little off. The hotel supplied myself and my wife with options for takeaway and replaced our tea and coffee when we asked. The young gentleman called Marvin was a pleasure and very helpful when we left in the morning. Hotel very clean. We liked how they closed the curtains and opened the windows to allow the room to cool down. Would Stay again

Room Tip: Hotel is right on the A55. But you could not hear it when in the room.

The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The hotel cats were cute. There was a kettle with tea and coffee in the room and enough space on the desk for me to set my laptop and uni books out as a permanent feature during my stay, while still being able to use the TV and kettle and still having room to put out food for me or the dog. Like the desk, the room was very spacious. The bathroom was very clean and the shower had excellent water pressure and temperature control.

Situated next to the A55 North Wales Express Way, which affords easy access to the Historic City of Chester & North Wales. Even though being close to the Motor Way there was no noise disturbance in our room, which was exellent with a very comfortable bed. No hesitation in recommending this Traelodge.

First time in years we have visited Rhyl! Booked 2 rooms, one for myself and boys aged 5 and 6 and another for my mom,and girls aged 10 and 16. We had a lovely overnight stay at Travelodge Halkyn.Staff we saw were polite and helpful, rooms were spotless and very clean. Bonus having a Greggs and Burger King next door. Good car parking and although near a main road, we could hear any noise while we stayed there. Will use again.

Booked one night at the motel, as it was near Llandudno where we were staying next. Had we known there was a Burger King next door, we would have given Mc D's a miss. No hassle booking in and the lady was very pleasant and explained everything. We were in room 18 and it was clean and spacious, but had only a small window. This wasn't a problem, as we were not there to sightsee out of a motel window ! We did have the window open all night as my partner suffers a little with hot flushes. The sound from the road was minimal and we both slept well. Bed was comfortable enough and bedding clean and fresh. Room was clean and tidy. I used the shower and give it a 10/10 for ease of use and no variation in temperature. Big towels. Drinks stocked enough for 2 cups of coffee each, could have been a bit more milk I suppose. Wobbly toilet, cheap toilet roll, creaky floors getting to our room. Could hear creaks early evening as folk came and went. Would use again no problem. Wifi was a free 30 mins, but you could have 24 hours for £3. Phone signal on EE poor, but GiffGaff full 4G signal.

As always - booking in advance is key with Travelodge prices. We booked a few weeks before hand, got a good price for 3 nights, and the hotel itself was superb. Close to the small town of Flint, and only half an hour from the coastal town of Rhyl in one direction, and Chester and the Cheshire Oaks outlet in the other.

The room itself was very clean, reasonably modern, and comfortably big enough for 2 adults and a bouncy toddler. Can't fault the room at all. The bathroom was very clean, and the only slight fault is that the water-pressure on the shower was rather weak. This was whilst showering at midnight, so not even during a peak shower time.

Overall though, it's a great little find for using as a base for day trips around the local area, and well worth the money if you get a decent price well in advance.

Clean, comfy and convenient. Very welcoming staff who are happy to help meet your needs.
Being able to get a nice warm snack before your day also helps make this a good place to stay.
Room was warm and comfortable plenty of pillows and towels. Easy to use telly and plenty of tea/coffee for your needs. Access is very good and the accessible room was great but does need booking in advance.

We used this travellodge as a base for trips to llandudno, colwyn bay etc as was half the price of hotels there.
The location included ample free car parking and was nice to have a Burger King next door. Moldvtown centre was not too far away for shops. Room was clean and comfy, and extra pillows were provided on request.
What stood out was the service provided by the lady on reception. Usually a member of housekeeping she was covering reception and was able to provide local information, guidance, recommendations and even providing colouring packs for the kids. She was a wonderful host who provided exceptional service with a friendly smile.

Can disabled people book a parking space
Answer from Halkyn M
Halkyn, United Kingdom
Hi, we have one accessible parking bay to the front of the hotel, with ramp access to the hotel. At the side of the Greggs/BK building there are plenty of parking bays, and again ramp access to the well light walk way. Unfortunately, these bays cannot be reserved. Many thanks Halkyn Travelodge

Answer from julie d
Halkyn, United Kingdom
Hi, We are about a 10-15 minute drive from the hotel to Flint Golf Club and we can arrange a taxi for you no problem at the desk. I would advise to book the return journey at the same time. Hope this helps, Halkyn Manager

Is there a Wetherspoons nearby please?
Answer from Halkyn M
Halkyn, United Kingdom
The nearest Weatherspoons is in either Holywell or Mold. You would need to drive, or we can provide taxi numbers, or book a taxi for you. There are two pub/restaurants in the nearest village of Northop, which would be a good 30 min walk. Hope this helps
